Overview

The TATAWIN lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for interior spaces where a precise and characterful light point is sought. Its grey-blue metallic shade and black structure make it a piece that fits both in a dining room with dark furniture and in a contemporary-style bedroom. It does not need to be the centre of attention to work well — its presence is discreet but recognisable.

The classic and timeless design of this lamp makes it compatible with many types of interior without becoming outdated over time. The focal light it projects is useful when you want to illuminate a specific area: a table, a reading corner or a kitchen worktop.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products are designed to last and to integrate into real environments, not just catalogue photographs.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp on the ceiling, a recessed or surface-mounted electrical connection box is required. The wiring must be accessible before beginning the installation. The total weight is 1.67 kg, which allows it to be fixed to standard ceilings without additional reinforcements. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a certified electrician, especially if there is no prior experience with suspension luminaires.

The metallic shade can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The use of abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish should be avoided. A bulb is not included in the package — it is necessary to purchase separately an E27 LED bulb compatible with the indicated wattage. Before handling the lamp for cleaning or bulb replacement, always disconnect the electrical power.

Design and use

The TATAWIN is a pendant lamp with a satin black steel structure and an oval-shaped metallic shade in grey-blue. The combination of these two tones creates a calm contrast — without harshness, but with enough personality to define the space where it is installed. The oval shade directs light downward in a concentrated manner, generating a warm and focused atmosphere beneath the installation point.

The steel body ensures solidity and stability. It is not a lamp that moves easily or loses its shape with use. The satin black finish avoids excessive reflections and gives a more sober appearance than conventional gloss. This type of finish is more resistant to marks and visible dust, which facilitates daily maintenance.

The oval shade is one of the most notable elements of this luminaire. Its elongated shape and grey-blue tone give it a character of its own without the need to resort to eye-catching materials such as glass or wicker. The light that this oval shade projects onto the work or rest surface is soft but defined, without dispersing excessively throughout the room.

This ceiling lamp works particularly well above dining tables. Hung at the appropriate height, it creates a specific light zone that invites people to gather around it. It is also a good option for the kitchen, where a focal light is needed over the worktop or central island. In the bedroom, installed above the bedside table or in the centre of the ceiling, it provides a warm light point without overloading the atmosphere.

In spaces such as the living room or a long hallway, this pendant lamp can be used individually or together with other units to create a sequence of lights. Its design does not compete with other decorative elements — it works well alongside light wood furniture, walls in neutral tones or dark floors. It also fits in interiors with vintage or industrial touches, where metal and muted colours take centre stage.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows the colour temperature to be chosen according to use. A warmer light is suitable for the bedroom or living room; a more neutral or cool one may work better in the kitchen or in workspaces. Although LED bulbs are not included in the package, they are widely available and replacement is straightforward.

The fact that this lamp is suitable for voltages between 120V and 240V makes it compatible with electrical installations in different countries, which is useful if it is purchased for projects in various locations. This is not a minor detail in larger-scale renovations.

In a generously sized bathroom, this luminaire can function as the main light if local regulations permit it for that type of space. Its metallic finish holds up well in environments with some ambient humidity, although it is not specifically designed for wet zones. For a general-purpose room, it delivers exactly what it promises: clean focal light and a refined appearance without relying on complex materials.

Questions and answers

Does the shade of this lamp have an oval or round shape?

The shade is oval. This elongated shape is what allows the light to be concentrated in a specific area and gives the lamp its characteristic profile when viewed from the side.

What type of bulb does this pendant lamp require and is it included?

It uses an E27 LED bulb with a maximum wattage of 15 W. The bulb is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.

Is the satin black finish of the structure resistant to everyday use?

The satin finish of the steel is more resistant to surface marks and visible dust than a gloss finish. Periodic cleaning with a dry cloth is sufficient to maintain its appearance.
