Overview

The FARO TATAWIN lamp is a ceiling pendant luminaire with a metal structure in satin black and a blue-grey shade. Its classic design makes it suitable for different types of interiors without becoming dated over time. The light it produces is direct and concentrated, making it a practical option for illuminating tables, work areas or specific corners of any room.

It works well in a dining room, where the focal light falls directly onto the table. It also fits in a kitchen with high ceilings, or in a bedroom where a characterful light source is desired. The oval shade directs the illumination downward without dispersing it, clearly defining the illuminated area.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products combine functionality with an aesthetic sensibility that does not follow passing trends.

Installation and specifications

To install this ceiling pendant lamp, a ceiling junction box with a rose or hook capable of supporting at least 2 kg is required. The suspension cable has a total length of 2000 mm, so it is advisable to measure the clear height before installation to adjust the drop to the desired point. It is recommended to carry out the installation with the power supply switched off and, if you do not have experience with electrical work, to consult a professional. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the indicated maximum wattage of 15 W.

To clean the oval shade and the metal structure, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the satin black finish. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Periodically check the ceiling fixing points to ensure the mounting remains secure.

Design and use

The TATAWIN lamp starts from a simple premise: a steel structure in satin black supporting an oval shade in a blue-grey tone. That contrast between the black body and the shade's color is what gives character to the ensemble without the need for additional elements. The oval shape of the shade is not merely aesthetic; it also determines how light is distributed downward, creating a concentrated halo that defines the illuminated space.

The satin black finish of the body does not reflect light aggressively. It is a tone that integrates easily with light-colored walls, natural wood or dark surfaces. The blue-grey shade adds a touch of color without being eye-catching, making it a modern lamp that does not compete with the rest of the furniture but complements it.

In a living room, this pendant luminaire works well above a coffee table or in a corner with a reading armchair, where focal light makes sense. In a dining room, placed above the table, it concentrates attention on the gathering space and creates a defined atmosphere without the need for additional lights in that area. In a kitchen with an island or a long countertop, one or more units of this pendant lamp can clearly mark the work area.

In the bedroom, TATAWIN can replace a bedside lamp when the goal is to free up surface space. Hung at the right height from the ceiling, it illuminates the side of the bed precisely. It can also work in a spacious bathroom with a high ceiling if installed in an area without direct humidity.

The 2000 mm suspension cable allows the drop height to be adjusted according to the space. In rooms with high ceilings, the lamp can hang higher while maintaining visual proportion. In spaces with standard ceilings, the cable can be shortened during installation so that the oval shade sits at the correct height.

Compatibility with an E27 LED bulb makes it easy to find the right light source. A warm-light LED bulb will reinforce the classic character of the design. A neutral-light one will give a more contemporary result. In either case, the oval shade filters and directs the bulb's light downward, without the interior being directly exposed to view.

The design of TATAWIN does not respond to any particular trend. There is something in the combination of the black structure and the blue-grey shade that is reminiscent of industrial or vintage-style luminaires without being a direct copy of any of them. This gives it versatility: it works equally well in a Nordic interior as in a more eclectic one or in a home with more classic design elements. The weight of 1.67 kg is moderate, which simplifies ceiling mounting without the need for special reinforcements in most cases.

Questions and answers

Does the TATAWIN lamp include the E27 LED bulb so it can be used right away?

No, the light source is not included. It is necessary to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 LED fitting, respecting the maximum wattage of 15 W indicated by the manufacturer.

Does the suspension cable allow the height of the oval shade to be adjusted?

Yes. The cable has a total length of 2000 mm, which provides room to adapt the lamp's drop to different ceiling heights during installation.

Can the satin black steel structure be installed in a bathroom?

The technical sheet does not specify any IP protection rating for this ceiling pendant lamp, so it is not recommended for areas with direct humidity or splashing. In a bathroom, it would only be suitable in dry areas away from the shower or washbasin.
