Installation and specifications

To install this lamp correctly, it is necessary to cut an opening in the ceiling with the exact dimensions of the module before beginning assembly. As a frameless recessed luminaire, the ceiling finish must be clean and well completed, since the fitting sits flush and any imperfection around it will be visible. It is recommended to have an electrician carry out the connection, as the LED light source is not included and the DALI system requires a compatible controller. Verify that the electrical installation supports 220V–240V before proceeding.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the PC diffuser. Always disconnect the power before any cleaning or intervention on the lamp.

Design and use

The LUMINA 1200 has an oval, narrow silhouette that, when recessed into the ceiling, appears to float above the plane without adding visual weight to the space. The length of 1245 mm makes this luminaire a piece of real presence, capable of visually structuring a room or defining a specific area without the need for other decorative elements.

The transparent body makes the lamp almost disappear when it is not switched on. At that point, what is visible is the opal diffuser — soft, continuous, uninterrupted. When the light is activated, the diffuser distributes illumination uniformly along the entire piece, avoiding bright spots or shadow zones. The 2200K temperature generates a warm light that envelops the atmosphere without being intense, ideal for spaces where time is spent at rest or in conversation.

The SMD LED module is integrated into the structure, which allows a minimum depth of 30 mm to be maintained. This figure is relevant when the available space in the ceiling is limited, something common in renovations where a false ceiling reduces the available centimetres. The height of just 34 mm means the luminaire sits virtually level with the ceiling, without protruding.

Compatibility with the DALI protocol opens the possibility of adjusting light intensity according to the time of day or the activity being carried out. In the living room, for example, the intensity can be lowered to watch a film and raised for a gathering with more people. In the dining room, a soft light at 2200K accompanies a dinner well without creating an overly formal atmosphere. In the kitchen, the ability to regulate the lights is especially practical when alternating tasks that require different levels of illumination.

In the bedroom, the discreet line of the lamp does not distract or draw visual attention when one is lying down looking at the ceiling. That, which may seem a minor detail, makes a real difference in how the space feels. A well-chosen recessed luminaire disappears into the ceiling and lets the rest of the environment speak for itself.

The absence of a frame is perhaps the most defining characteristic of the LUMINA 1200. Many recessed lamps have a ring or surround that visually separates the piece from the ceiling. Here that element does not exist, and the result is a clean transition between the luminaire and the surface. In spaces with ceilings painted in dark colours or clad with materials such as wood, that constructive detail makes the difference between an installation that integrates and one that contrasts.

The possibility of combining several modules in a single installation is another point to consider. The modular design allows the installation to be adapted to almost any floor plan without forcing compromise solutions.

Questions and answers

Is it possible to regulate the intensity of the LUMINA 1200 from a home automation system?

Yes. The module includes DALI technology, which allows integration with compatible lighting control systems. A DALI controller installed in the electrical network is required for this. Intensity regulation is not possible with a conventional dimmer.

Is the LED light source included in the package?

No. The lamp does not include a light source. A compatible SMD LED module must be purchased separately before proceeding with installation.

What minimum false ceiling thickness is needed to install this luminaire?

The module depth is 30 mm and the height is 34 mm. It is recommended to have at least 40–50 mm of free space above the false ceiling to carry out the installation comfortably and leave room for wiring.
