Overview

The FARO LOOP LED floor lamp is a floor luminaire designed by Estudi Ribaudí for spaces where light needs to do more than just illuminate. It works well in a living room, a bedroom, or any room where you want to create a warm atmosphere without relying on general ceiling lighting.

The design is built around a metal structure with a round base and an arm that curves to embrace the cherry wood shade. That gesture, almost architectural, gives the series its name: LOOP. The wooden shade adds visual warmth and softens the downward LED light, creating a concentrated and pleasant ambient glow.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine aesthetic sensibility with durable materials, and are designed for both domestic use and interior design projects in hospitality and restaurants.

Installation and specifications

As a floor lamp, it requires no fixed electrical installation or any intervention on the ceiling or wall. Simply place it in the desired location and plug it into a standard 220V–240V outlet. Before doing so, make sure the cable does not run under the base or through areas with frequent foot traffic. The light source is included, so nothing additional needs to be purchased to get it up and running.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the metal body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The cherry wood shade should not be exposed to direct moisture or cleaning products containing solvents. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth to avoid scratches. Do not handle the light source while the lamp is on or immediately after turning it off.

Design and use

LOOP LED is a floor lamp that has something hard to find in many current designs: a structure that looks good even when it is switched off. The right-angled metal arm, finished in matte black, rises from a round base and curves around the cherry wood shade. That shade is not merely a decorative element. It is what defines how light is perceived in the room.

Cherry wood has a warm tone that, combined with the 2700K color temperature of the integrated LED, produces soft and enveloping illumination. It is not a light for reading on the sofa for hours, but rather the kind of light that changes how a space feels. In a living room, well positioned in a corner or next to an armchair, it transforms the atmosphere without needing to change anything else.

In the bedroom, this floor lamp can serve as ambient lighting at bedtime, when ceiling light is too intense. Its sturdy stand and height of 1250 mm allow it to be placed beside the bed or in a corner without taking up too much floor space.

It also fits in professional settings. Restaurants, hotels, receptions, or waiting rooms with a refined aesthetic will find in LOOP an option that does not resemble typical contract luminaires. The design by Estudi Ribaudí has a character of its own, with enough personality to stand out without clashing.

The dining room is another space where this type of floor lamp works well, especially when the main ceiling light illuminates the table but leaves the rest of the room in shadow. Adding a lamp in that context allows the overall lighting of the dining room to be balanced without installing anything new on the ceiling.

In terms of style combinations, the contrast between matte black steel and cherry wood is versatile. It works in modern interiors, in vintage-aesthetic environments, in spaces with neutral tones, and also in rooms with more texture and color. It is not a piece that demands a specific style, but it does contribute a clear visual direction.

The integrated SMD LED light source and the translucent PMMA diffuser work together to produce uniform light without annoying glare. The option to dim the intensity adds another level of control over the atmosphere. With more light, the space becomes lively; with less, it becomes intimate.

For a wide hallway or an entrance with some space, this floor lamp can be the only decorative lighting element needed, especially if the hallway already has functional light points on the ceiling.

Questions and answers

Does the LOOP LED lamp allow you to adjust the light intensity?

Yes, the light source of this lamp is dimmable. You can adjust the intensity according to the time of day or the atmosphere you want to create in the room.

Is the shade made of natural wood or a material that imitates it?

The shade is made of natural cherry wood. That material is what gives the lamp its characteristic warm tone and what visually distinguishes it from other floor lamps with synthetic shades.

What color temperature does this lamp emit and how does it affect the atmosphere?

It emits light at 2700K, which corresponds to a warm white tone, similar to traditional incandescent light. It is a temperature suitable for creating relaxed atmospheres in living rooms, bedrooms, or rest areas.
