Overview

The STOOD floor lamp, from the LÚCID by FARO collection, is a floor luminaire designed for those looking for a warm and characterful light source in the living room, dining room, or bedroom. It combines a cherry wood shade with a matte black steel structure, giving it a refined look without being overdone.

The wooden shade provides a natural warmth that synthetic materials cannot match. The metal base and body give it stability and make the floor lamp a solid piece, not merely decorative. It is a valid option for both a modern living room and a bedroom where softer, more enveloping ambient lighting is desired.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in designing interior luminaires. Their products are built to last and to fit into real spaces, not just studio photographs.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp is installed directly on the floor, with no anchoring or special tools required. Before placing it, it is advisable to choose the final position, as given its weight, moving it frequently can be inconvenient. Make sure the cable reaches the power outlet comfortably without being taut or crossing walkways. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so it is recommended to have one on hand before assembly to be able to check operation from the very first moment.

For the care of the cherry wood, clean the shade with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the natural finish. The matte black steel structure is easily cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not use scourers or spray cleaners directly on the surface. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before changing the bulb or cleaning any part of the assembly.

Design and use

The STOOD collection was born from the intention of creating a floor lamp that does not go unnoticed, yet does not compete with the rest of the space. The combination of cherry wood and matte black steel is a deliberate choice: the wood brings warmth to the environment, the metal gives it structure and presence. Together they form a piece that fits into modern, Nordic, or mixed interiors without the need for major adjustments.

At 1820 mm in height, the lamp becomes a vertical element that helps articulate the space. In a living room, it can be placed next to the sofa to create a reading or relaxation area with ambient light. In the dining room, it works as a complement to the central lighting, softening the general light and providing a warm focal point near the table. In the bedroom, a lamp of this type allows you to do without ceiling light at night, which is especially comfortable before sleeping.

The cherry wood shade behaves in a particular way with light: depending on how it is oriented, it filters or diffuses the beam differently. This allows you to play with the direction of lighting depending on the use of each room. It is not a light for working, but a light for living.

The matte black steel body is a finish that ages well and remains discreet alongside other materials. It does not accumulate fingerprints easily and does not require special maintenance. Its weight of 11 kg ensures that the base remains firm on the floor without the need for additional supports.

This floor lamp can also work well in less obvious areas. In a long hallway, for example, it can break the monotony of overhead lighting and mark a more intimate focal point. In a large bathroom or a secondary living area, it can serve as the main light source if the space does not require much luminous output.

The STOOD collection does not seek to imitate specific styles. It is not a vintage piece, nor strictly industrial. It has elements that connect with various trends, making it versatile across different types of décor. It pairs well with natural textiles, light wood or earth-toned furniture, and also with metallic finishes elsewhere in the space.

The square base of 510 x 510 mm occupies a reasonable amount of floor space without interfering with walkways or nearby furniture. It is a lamp designed to stay in a fixed position, not to be moved constantly. Once the right spot is found, it integrates naturally into the room as if it had always been there.

Questions and answers

Does the STOOD floor lamp include the E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. It is necessary to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 LED fitting of up to 15 W maximum power.

Is the lamp base stable given its size and height?

Yes. With a net weight of 11 kg and a base of 510 x 510 mm, the lamp remains firm on the floor without the need for additional anchoring. Its own weight guarantees stability.

Does the cherry wood shade hold up well in spaces such as the bathroom or hallway, where there may be more humidity or contact?

Cherry wood is a natural material that requires certain care. In spaces such as the bathroom or hallway with high humidity, it is not the most recommended environment for this type of shade. For use in the living room, dining room, or bedroom, the material stays in good condition with periodic cleaning using a dry cloth.
