Overview

The REM floor lamp by FARO is a luminaire designed for those looking for more than functional lighting. Its timeless design, created by Alex & Manel Lluscà, fits equally well in a renovated living room or a bedroom with its own character. The antique gold finish on the steel structure and the beige shade create a combination that does not depend on trends — it simply works well in different contexts.

This floor lamp is not merely a decorative piece. It is designed for residential lighting, but also adapts well to hospitality projects: hotel rooms, restaurants, receptions. The REM collection was born with that dual purpose, and it shows in the way it balances visual presence and discretion.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its catalogue combines in-house design with carefully selected materials, and the REM collection is a good example of that way of working.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp rests directly on the floor and does not require fixing to a wall or ceiling. Upon receiving it, simply place it in the chosen space and plug the cable into a standard power outlet. Make sure the floor is stable and level so that the base does not shift. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately before using the lamp.

To clean the steel structure with an antique gold finish, a soft cloth slightly dampened is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents are not recommended, as they may alter the finish. The beige shade can be cleaned with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Keeping the cable tucked away and clear of walkways reduces the risk of tripping.

Design and use

The REM collection bears the signature of designers Alex & Manel Lluscà, known for an approach that prioritises clarity of form over ornamentation. This floor lamp reflects that principle: clean lines, a slender body, a compact base. Nothing is superfluous. The steel structure with an antique gold finish does not imitate the old, but rather translates that warm tone into the language of contemporary design.

In a living room, the light projected by this lamp creates a point of warmth without overwhelming the space. Placed next to an armchair or sofa, it complements the general lighting and defines a reading or relaxation area. The beige shade filters the light softly, without harsh contrast between illuminated areas and areas in shadow. This makes the lamp work well in the dining room too, where ambient light without harshness is desired.

In the bedroom, a lamp of these characteristics adds presence without dominating. The antique gold tone pairs well with wooden headboards, dark frames or natural textiles. It does not interrupt — it accompanies. And being a freestanding floor lamp, it requires no intervention in the room's electrical installation.

The hallway is another space where this type of luminaire makes sense. A long hallway often receives little natural light, and a well-placed floor lamp can completely change the perception of the space. It does not replace general lighting, but adds warmth at specific points.

Although its design is rooted in residential interiors, the REM collection is also designed for renovation or commercial projects. In a hotel room, this floor lamp provides that atmospheric touch that makes the difference between a functional space and one where the guest feels comfortable. In a restaurant or bar, it defines corners with warm light and helps create atmosphere without the need for complex installations.

In terms of compatibility with other materials, the lamp pairs well with wood surfaces, both light and dark. The antique gold also connects with vintage-style elements or ceramic pieces in earthy tones. It is neither a purely Nordic lamp nor a rustic one — it occupies an intermediate position that allows it to adapt to varied compositions.

At 1410 mm in height, it is a piece with a real presence in the room, without appearing disproportionate in spaces with standard ceiling height. A large bathroom, if it has the appropriate electrical installation, can also accommodate this lamp as a decorative lighting complement.

The use of an E27 LED bulb allows the light tone to be chosen according to the desired ambience: warmer for rest areas, more neutral for work or reading spaces. The lamp is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, making it suitable for use in different countries without an adapter.

Questions and answers

Does the REM floor lamp include the E27 LED bulb in the package?

No, the bulb is not included. An E27 LED screw-cap bulb must be purchased separately before using the lamp. The maximum supported wattage is 15 W.

Is the antique gold finish on the structure resistant to everyday use?

The body is made of steel with an antique gold finish, a finish designed for interior use. It holds up well with periodic cleaning using a soft cloth. Abrasive products that could affect the tone of the finish should be avoided.

Does this lamp need to be fixed to the wall or floor to remain stable?

It does not require any kind of anchoring. It rests directly on the floor thanks to its base. Simply make sure to place it on a level surface so that it remains stable.
