Overview

The MONTREAL floor lamp by FARO is a designer luminaire that combines a chrome metal structure with a beige fabric shade. The result is a piece that works well both in modern spaces and in more classic environments. It is designed to illuminate an entryway, a corner of the living room, or any area where focused light is needed without resorting to fixed ceiling or wall installations.

The MONTREAL collection was developed by the design studio Nahtrang. One of the details that sets it apart is the small integrated hook at the top of the structure, an element that refreshes the classic floor lamp line and gives it its own character. This lamp adapts to residential, office, and hospitality projects.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its catalogue ranges from technical luminaires to decorative pieces, always maintaining quality standards in materials and finishes.

Installation and specifications

This lamp rests directly on the floor, with no ceiling or wall installation required. Simply place it in the desired location and plug it into a standard outlet. Being compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, it works without an adapter in any country. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately. It uses an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W.

To clean the chrome structure, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the metal finish. The beige fabric shade can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft-bristle brush to remove accumulated dust. Do not wet the shade directly. Keep the lamp away from heat sources and do not exceed the maximum power indicated for the E27 socket.

Design and use

The MONTREAL floor lamp has a height of 1600 mm, making it a piece with enough presence to visually anchor a corner without being bulky. The base and arm are made of steel with a chrome finish, a material that provides stability while keeping the total weight under two kilograms. This makes it easy to move from one spot to another depending on the needs of the space.

The shade is made of beige fabric. This neutral tone diffuses light softly, creating a warm atmosphere around the lighting point. It is the type of light that works well in a bedroom for reading, in a hallway where a touch of warmth is desired, or in a living room where general lighting already exists and a more intimate focal point is sought.

Nahtrang's design incorporates a hook at the top of the structure. This detail is not merely decorative: it allows a light object to be hung, such as a bag or a garment, which can be practical in an entryway or a hallway. It is a functional nod within a piece designed primarily as a luminaire.

In a kitchen, this type of lamp can be used to highlight a work or seating area if the space allows. In a dining room, placed near a sideboard or in a corner of the room, it adds a differentiated level of light from that of the main ceiling lamp. In a bedroom, it replaces the bedside table light or complements the ambient lighting when a bit more brightness is needed at a specific point.

In terms of style, chrome and beige are a combination that integrates well with interiors of clean lines, but also with warmer environments where wood, linen, or earthy tones predominate. A wooden bookshelf, a sofa in neutral tones, a textured wall — the MONTREAL lamp does not compete with these elements, it joins them effortlessly.

For the bathroom, although it is not designed as a bathroom luminaire, in larger spaces with a dressing room or vanity area it can work if kept away from direct water contact. In any case, it is always advisable to consult local regulations on lighting in wet areas before installing it in that type of room.

The MONTREAL collection is also designed for professional environments. In an office reception, in the waiting area of a hotel, or in a commercial space with a refined aesthetic, this floor lamp provides a decorative light point that reinforces the atmosphere of the place without taking up much floor space.

Focused lighting plays a role that ceiling lighting cannot always fulfil. It allows light to be directed where it is needed, creates zones within a single space, and modifies the perception of a room without construction work or installations. The MONTREAL lamp performs this function well, with a balanced design and materials that do not lose their appearance over time.
