Overview

The LUPE floor lamp, by the brand FARO, is a lighting solution for residential spaces that combines functionality with contemporary design. It was conceived by designer Jordi Busquets and is part of a series designed to bring a modern touch to any room in the home.

What sets it apart is the ability to adjust both the height of the structure and the tilt of the shade. This allows you to direct the light exactly where it is needed, without relying on a fixed position. It is a versatile lamp that adapts to different times of day and different needs within the same room.

The matte black finish on the steel structure gives it a clean, defined look. The fabric shade softens the light, preventing direct glare and creating a warmer atmosphere. FARO is a company with extensive experience in interior lighting, and in this lamp the attention to detail is evident in both the materials and the adjustment mechanism.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp rests directly on the floor and requires no installation or anchoring. Before placing it, it is worth choosing the location carefully: since it is adjustable in height and tilt, it offers some flexibility, but it is preferable to position it near an outlet to avoid exposed cables. The cable should be kept tidy and out of the way to prevent tripping. No tools are required for normal use, although when adjusting the structure for the first time, it may be helpful to check that the joints are properly secured before switching it on.

To keep the lamp in good condition, simply clean the steel structure with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The fabric shade can accumulate dust over time; it is recommended to use a soft brush or a dry cloth, avoiding wet or abrasive products. The maximum indicated power of 15 W must not be exceeded. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

Design and use

The LUPE lamp has a steel structure finished in matte black that conveys solidity without appearing visually heavy. The proportions are well thought out: at 1500 mm in height, it takes up just the right amount of space to illuminate at the appropriate level without interfering with the rest of the furniture. The fabric shade, with dimensions of 300 x 380 mm, filters the light and distributes it in a diffuse manner, making it particularly pleasant in spaces where a relaxed atmosphere is desired.

The adjustment mechanism is one of the most practical aspects of this floor lamp. Being able to modify the tilt of the shade allows the lighting to be adapted to different uses: reading, general ambiance, or accent light. This makes it a useful option in the living room, where lighting needs change throughout the day.

In the bedroom, the LUPE floor lamp can be placed next to the bed or in a corner, functioning as ambient or reading light depending on how the shade is oriented. It is a practical alternative when you do not want to install additional fixed light points. The adjustable height allows it to be adapted to different furniture configurations.

In the dining room, a lamp of this type can complement the central lighting, adding light in a corner or next to a sideboard. It is not a primary light source, but rather an additional layer that adds depth to the space. In the dining room it can also function as a decorative element when switched off, thanks to its clean design.

In the kitchen and bathroom, its use is more occasional, although it is not ruled out. In a kitchen with a living area or in a large bathroom with space for a reading nook, a floor lamp can have a place if the space allows. In the hallway, placed at one end, it can act as a welcoming light point that brings warmth to the home entrance.

Jordi Busquets' design embraces modernity without resorting to eye-catching elements. The combination of structural metal and a textile shade is classic in contemporary-style floor lamps, but here it is executed with original details that set it apart from more generic options. The matte black finish avoids reflections and integrates well in interiors with neutral palettes, both in environments featuring natural wood and in more industrial spaces.

In terms of its relationship with other materials, the lamp works well alongside dark wood furniture, upholstery in earthy or grey tones, and stone or concrete surfaces. It can also coexist with light wood elements if the rest of the space has defined contrasts. The matte black acts as a background colour that does not compete with the rest of the furniture.

Its weight of 1.67 kg makes it easy to move from one space to another without effort. This is a real advantage when you want to try different configurations before deciding on the final location.
