Overview

The BERNI floor lamp by FARO is a floor luminaire that fits well in spaces where a carefully considered atmosphere is sought without resorting to complicated designs. It works in the living room, next to a sofa or reading armchair, or as a complementary light source in the bedroom. It is also suitable for the hallway if space allows, or in any indoor corner where warmth is desired without overwhelming the environment.

The BERNI collection is based on a simple idea: clean shapes and well-chosen materials. The fabric shade diffuses light naturally, without bright spots or harsh shadows. The white matte steel body provides visual stability and integrates easily into different interior styles.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting design. Its products combine aesthetic criteria with practical functionality, and are designed for everyday domestic use.

Installation and specifications

As a floor lamp, it does not require ceiling or wall mounting. Simply place it at the chosen point and connect it to a standard power outlet. Before switching it on for the first time, make sure to install a compatible E27 LED bulb with the indicated wattage. Check that the cable is tidy and does not cross any walkways.

The fabric shade may accumulate dust over time. It is recommended to clean it with a dry cloth or a soft brush, without wet products or chemicals. The steel body is cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and dried immediately. Avoid moving the lamp by pulling on the cable or the shade.

Design and use

The BERNI floor lamp has a discreet yet defined presence within an interior. Its white matte steel structure reaches 1510 mm in height, placing it at a human scale and allowing it to project light in a comfortable direction for reading or simply relaxing. It is not a lamp that draws too much attention to itself, but it does not go unnoticed either.

The fabric shade is the element that most defines the character of this luminaire. It filters the light rather than projecting it directly, resulting in diffuse and enveloping illumination. In a living room, this translates into a warmer atmosphere at the end of the day, without the harshness of direct light. In the bedroom, it facilitates a smooth transition between afternoon and night.

The 480 mm diameter gives the shade a generous size, sufficient for the light to spread well across a medium-sized space. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate the entire room, but rather to create a pleasant focal point of light in a specific area.

The white matte steel of the body is a finish that ages well. It does not accumulate marks easily and adapts to walls of different colours without generating excessive contrast. Alongside furniture with light or dark wood, it maintains balance without imposing itself. It also works well in interiors where neutral tones, natural textiles or smooth surfaces predominate.

In the hallway, a lamp of this type can replace a wall light if no structural work is desired. It takes up minimal floor space and adds a warm light source in an area that tends to remain in semi-darkness. In the kitchen, it can function as ambient lighting if there is an integrated corner or seating area. In the dining room, placed next to a sideboard or near the table, it helps to define the space without the need for a second ceiling luminaire.

The bathroom is a space where a floor lamp is not normally placed, but if the space allows and there is no risk of contact with water, it can add a decorative light source in the dressing or washbasin area. The environmental conditions must always be taken into account before installing it.

The BERNI collection by Nahtrang for FARO is an example of modern design that does not rely on eye-catching elements. Its strength lies in its proportions, the quality of the materials and formal coherence. This makes it a valid option both for those completely renovating an interior and for those who simply want to add a different light to an already defined space.

Questions and answers

Does the BERNI lamp include a bulb so it can be used from the very first moment?

No, the bulb is not included. You need to purchase an E27 screw cap bulb compatible with LED and with a maximum wattage of 15 W. This type of bulb is easy to find in any lighting store or large retail outlet.

Can the white matte steel body deteriorate with normal indoor use?

The white matte finish of the steel is resistant to everyday indoor use. It does not require any special treatment. Periodic cleaning with a dry cloth is sufficient to maintain its appearance in good condition over time.

How much does the floor lamp weigh and does it need to be anchored to the floor to be stable?

The lamp has a net weight of 6.24 kg, which provides a sufficiently firm base to remain stable without the need for anchoring. It does not require any type of floor fixing.
