Overview

ROL is a compact ceiling flush mount, finished in matte black, designed for those looking for a discreet lamp that does not take up visual space but performs its function well. It works in any room where warm direct light from the ceiling is needed — bedroom, kitchen, dining room or hallway.

The lamp includes an integrated COB LED light source, so there is no need to look for or buy bulbs separately. It emits light at 2700K, a temperature that feels warm and soft, pleasant for spaces where time is spent at home. The modern design and matte black color make ROL fit effortlessly into contemporary interiors, both on light walls and dark finishes.

The ROL flush mount belongs to the surface luminaire line by FARO, a brand with a long track record in developing lighting solutions for the home.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the flush mount, make sure the electrical circuit is switched off at the main panel. The lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included anchoring elements. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if there is no existing junction box at the chosen ceiling point. Verify that the surface is solid and capable of supporting the weight of the luminaire before making the anchors.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid aggressive or abrasive chemical products on the matte black finish, as they can damage the surface. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. As an interior luminaire, it should not be installed in areas exposed to rain or direct humidity.

Design and use

The body of the ROL flush mount combines aluminium and ABS, two materials that complement each other well: the aluminium provides structure and heat dissipation, while the ABS allows for cleaner shapes and a uniform finish. The result is a lightweight lamp, under one kilogram, that does not put strain on the ceiling anchor point and stays firmly in place without the need for additional reinforcements.

Matte black is one of the most versatile elements in modern design. It does not accumulate reflections, does not draw attention to itself, and works both in interiors with an industrial style and in more neutral or Scandinavian spaces. A lamp of this type can appear invisible on a dark ceiling, or act as a clean contrast point on a white ceiling. In both cases, the result is tidy and coherent.

The 2700K light emitted by this lamp is warm, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. That temperature is especially comfortable in bedrooms used on a daily basis, where cool light can feel harsh. It also works well in the dining room, where a relaxed atmosphere during meals is desired, and in the kitchen as a general or supplementary lighting point.

Although the ROL flush mount is not intended for outdoor use, its modern design fits perfectly in interior transit areas such as entrances, hallways or dressing rooms. Where vertical space is limited, a surface lamp like this is more practical than any pendant solution, as it does not interfere with circulation or reduce the perceived ceiling height.

In home spaces with a carefully considered aesthetic — integrated living areas, home working zones, open kitchens — the ROL can be combined with other modern lights of the same finish to create a uniform proposal. A spotlight bar or a light strip in the same black tone would work well alongside this flush mount, maintaining visual coherence without needing to mix different materials.

Surface flush mounts are one of the most sought-after solutions in renovations, precisely because they do not require complex work or modification of the ceiling structure. A lamp like this can be installed in a few hours and visually transforms the space immediately. The ROL, with its compact profile and matte black finish, is a straightforward option for those who want modern lighting without unnecessary accessories.

The modern design of the ROL also makes it compatible with straight-lined furniture, both in dark wood and in lacquered white. In a bedroom with an upholstered headboard or in a dining room with a wooden table, this lamp acts as an element that completes the ensemble without imposing itself.

Questions and answers

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The ROL lamp includes the integrated COB LED light source. It is not necessary to purchase any additional bulbs or make any adaptations before installing it.

Is the matte black finish of the body resistant to fingerprints or scratching?

The matte finish of the aluminium and ABS is less prone to showing fingerprints than glossy finishes, but it may accumulate dust over time. It can be easily cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without the need for special products.

Can this ceiling lamp be installed in a kitchen with frequent steam or humidity?

The ROL flush mount is classified as an interior luminaire with no specific protection against humidity. It can be installed in a kitchen with adequate ventilation, but it is not recommended to place it directly above areas with intense steam or near sources of high humidity.
