Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling by connecting to the existing wiring. Before installing it, cut the power at the electrical panel. Check that the ceiling surface can support the weight of the product. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. The lamp does not require an additional junction box — it mounts directly onto the ceiling rose.

Use and maintenance. Clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish or the acrylic diffuser. Do not cover the lamp with materials that prevent ventilation. The included LED does not require frequent replacement, but if it ever needs servicing, consult a technician.

Design and use

The COCOTTE lamp starts from a clear idea: that the metal support should not be merely structure, but a visible and leading part of the object. In most ceiling lights, the base is something that is hidden or minimised. Here the opposite happens — the aluminium bar that holds the diffuser is a design element in its own right. This gives the lamp a different presence, more honest about what it is and how it is built.

The body is aluminium with a gloss white finish. It is a material that holds up well over time, does not deform and maintains its colour without losing quality. The central bar provides rigidity and stability, and its clean geometry fits with modern interiors without feeling cold or distant. Against a neutral-coloured wall or ceiling, the white of the aluminium blends in effortlessly.

The diffuser is made of opal PMMA — an acrylic that disperses light evenly. There are no bright spots or dark areas. The colour temperature is 3000K, which corresponds to a warm white light, similar to incandescent light but more efficient. It is a light that does not tire the eyes and works well both for everyday activities and for moments of rest.

With a diameter of 430 mm and only 85 mm in height, this lamp is a good option for low ceilings or spaces where you do not want to lose the sense of height. It does not protrude, it does not take up unnecessary visual space. This makes it especially practical in small bedrooms, wide hallways or kitchens where vertical space is limited.

The support bar, which gives the design its name along with the silhouette of the piece, has a well-calculated proportion relative to the total diameter. It does not look small or exaggerated. This means the modern lights in the space maintain visual coherence without depending on many additional decorative elements.

Questions and answers

Does the opal PMMA diffuser completely cover the LED, or can the light points be seen directly?

The opal PMMA diffuser disperses light evenly. The LED points are not visible to the naked eye, which prevents glare and produces uniform illumination across the entire surface.

Is the metal support bar structural or merely decorative?

It is structural. The aluminium bar is part of the fixing system and provides stability to the assembly. At the same time, it is the central design element of the lamp, so it fulfils both functions simultaneously.

Is it possible to install this lamp on a ceiling with a standard rose without any additional work?

Yes. The lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling and connected to the existing wiring. It does not require a junction box or special adapters, provided the electrical installation is standard and in good condition.
