Overview

The STAN lamp by FARO is a ceiling flush mount designed for interior spaces where clean, straightforward lighting is desired. It installs directly onto the ceiling, with no hanging cables or distracting elements. Its compact size — 60 mm in diameter and 105 mm in height — makes it especially practical for rooms with low ceilings or spaces where every centimeter counts.

The body is made of aluminum with a matte white finish, giving it a neat, neutral appearance. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to emerge in a direct and controlled manner, without distortion. This is a lamp designed for those who want a functional solution with a modern look, without taking up more space than necessary.

FARO is a company with decades of experience in home and professional lighting. Their products are present in all types of projects, from residential to commercial spaces. The STAN series is part of their line of modern flush mounts for interior use, designed with durability and ease of installation in mind.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this ceiling lamp, make sure to cut the electrical power from the main panel. The fixture mounts directly onto the ceiling using the included anchors. As a surface-mounted luminaire, it does not require a recessed box. Check that the ceiling surface is firm before screwing in. This lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, so no adapter is needed for standard European installations. Please note that the GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the aluminum body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on or connected to the power supply.

Design and use

The STAN series is a collection of interior ceiling lights developed by FARO with a refined and functional style. Each lamp in the series shares the same design logic: compact body, quality materials, and a modern aesthetic that fits effortlessly into different types of spaces.

The body combines aluminum and ABS, two materials that together provide structural strength and low weight. At just 0.18 kg, this lamp places no burden on the ceiling. The matte white finish is discreet and does not visually add tension to the space. It is not an element that draws attention to itself, but rather integrates naturally into its surroundings.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser is one of the details that most influences the visual result. Unlike opaque diffusers, this one allows the light source to be seen clearly, adding a touch of precision to the overall look. The light comes out in a direct manner, which is useful in areas where specific illumination is needed over a work surface or a passageway.

This lamp works well in many domestic contexts. In the kitchen, it can be installed above the countertop or in food preparation areas where direct light makes tasks easier. In the dining room, one or more units from this series can be distributed to illuminate the table or the sides of the space without visually overwhelming the décor. In the bedroom, its low profile allows it to be installed even in rooms with standard ceiling heights without feeling intrusive. It is also a practical option for hallways, dressing rooms, or utility rooms where a simple lighting solution is needed.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs makes it a low-consumption lamp when properly equipped. The maximum accepted power is 5W, sufficient to illuminate a localized area efficiently. By working with a wide voltage range — between 100V and 240V — it can be installed without issue in any standard domestic electrical system.

From a style perspective, the STAN series fits well with modern, minimalist, or Scandinavian interiors. The matte white does not clash with other decorative elements, whether a stainless steel kitchen bar, an exposed brick wall, or light wood furniture. Nor does it look out of place in more traditional home spaces, where a discreet lamp is preferable to a bold design piece.

Although outdoor use is outside the scope of this series — it is designed exclusively for interior use — its aluminum construction gives it a solidity that goes beyond what is expected from small modern flush mounts. It is not a single-use lamp: it can accompany different phases of a decorating project without becoming obsolete.

The flush mounts in the STAN series can be combined with each other to create zone lighting schemes. This is especially useful in open kitchens or dining rooms integrated with the living area, where lights need to be distributed thoughtfully without creating harsh contrasts. The visual consistency between multiple units of the same series simplifies space planning.

Questions and answers

Does the transparent polycarbonate diffuser affect the direction of the light?

Yes. Being transparent, the diffuser does not scatter the light but allows it to emerge directly from the GU10 bulb. This concentrates the illumination on a specific area, which is useful for lighting work surfaces or particular points in the space.

What type of GU10 bulb is compatible with this ceiling lamp?

The lamp accepts any GU10 LED bulb with a maximum power of 5W. The bulb is not included in the purchase and must be acquired separately. It is recommended to use LED to make the most of the flush mount's efficiency.

Does the aluminum + ABS body withstand continuous use without deteriorating?

Yes. The combination of aluminum and ABS provides structural strength and finish stability over time. The matte white does not tend to yellow with normal indoor use, and the aluminum does not deform under the heat generated by low-power LED bulbs.
