Overview

SHOKU 350 is a wall light that integrates effortlessly into spaces where lighting is part of the design, not an afterthought. It is designed for those looking for an interior lamp with its own visual presence, but without taking up unnecessary prominence. It works well in the bedroom, dining room, hallways, or any transitional area where soft, distributed light is needed.

The light source is recessed inside the body of the lamp, eliminating direct glare. The resulting effect is a diffuse luminosity that spreads from the inside to the outside of the piece. This way of lighting reduces eye strain and makes the atmosphere more comfortable without one noticing why.

SHOKU belongs to a family of luminaires designed by Ernest Perera Studio with a clear criterion: architecture and functionality in a single piece. The range includes different sizes and colors, allowing several units to be combined in the same room or distributed across different rooms while maintaining visual coherence. FARO Barcelona develops this type of product with materials designed to last and with a finish that does not lose quality over time.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp on the wall, an existing light point or prior installation of recessed wiring is required. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, installation requires anchoring the base directly onto the wall surface. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting, check that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated range of 220V–240V. The lamp does not include a bulb, so it must be purchased separately, respecting the maximum power of 24W.

To clean the aluminum body, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. The PMMA diffuser is cleaned in the same way, avoiding abrasive products or solvents that may scratch the opal surface. Do not clean the lamp with the power connected. Periodically check that the anchors remain secure, especially if the wall is made of drywall or lightweight materials.

Design and use

The body of SHOKU 350 is made of aluminum with a light grey finish. It is a material that provides structural stability without adding excessive weight, and that maintains its appearance intact over time. The piece has a diameter of 350 mm and a height of 93 mm, proportions that place it at an intermediate point: it is not a small lamp that goes unnoticed, but neither is it a piece that visually saturates the wall.

The diffuser is made of PMMA with an opal finish. This material distributes light evenly, without areas of greater or lesser intensity appearing. Since the light source is interior and not directly visible, the visual result from any angle is always the same: a surface that glows uniformly. This is especially useful in bedrooms or dining rooms, where overhead or point lighting with glare ends up being bothersome.

The color temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, close to that of classic incandescent lights. This type of lighting is suitable for rooms where rest or conversation is sought, not for intensive work spaces. In a bedroom with neutral tones or in a modern design kitchen, this tone reinforces the warmth of the atmosphere without altering the colors of the surroundings.

SHOKU works both as a single piece and in combination with other units from the same family. Placing two wall lights at the same height on both sides of a bed headboard creates a symmetrical effect that perfectly replaces bedside lamps. It can also be used as an accent lighting element in a hallway, marking the visual rhythm of the space with a row of lights at different heights.

The overall style of the piece is modern and restrained. There are no ornaments, no specific decorative references. This makes the wall light compatible with Nordic-style interiors, with more industrial environments where exposed aluminum has a presence, or with contemporary home spaces. The light grey color of the body fits with white, grey, or earth-toned walls without generating excessive contrast.

The modern design of this family of luminaires is intended for those who update their space with discernment. It is not about putting up a new lamp, but about integrating lighting as part of the whole. SHOKU achieves this without striking gestures and without the wall light seeming out of place. The opal finish of the diffuser, the aluminum of the body, and the proportions of the piece work together so that the result is coherent with the style of the surroundings and lasting over time.

Questions and answers

Does the SHOKU 350 wall light include a bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. It must be purchased separately. The maximum accepted power is 24W and the operating voltage is 220V–240V. A 2700K light source is recommended to maintain the color temperature intended in the original design.

Can the opal PMMA diffuser be scratched during regular cleaning?

PMMA is more sensitive to scratches than glass. To clean the diffuser, a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp, should be used. Scourers, abrasive products, and solvents must be avoided, as they can damage the opal finish and affect light distribution.

Can this wall light be combined with other luminaires from the SHOKU family?

Yes. The SHOKU family is available in different sizes and colors, allowing pieces to be mixed in the same room. It is common to combine two units of the same model on both sides of a headboard or to distribute several wall lights along a hallway with a uniform criterion.
