Overview

A globe bulb with a silver mirrored crown. The mirror covers the front of the 95 mm globe and sends the light back towards the fitting, so the bulb glows around its edge instead of shining straight out.

It produces 450 lm of warm white light at 2700K and draws 4 W. It is a decorative bulb first: choose it where the bulb itself is part of the look.

Installation and specifications

The cap is E27, the standard Edison screw. Check the space in the shade before ordering: this globe is 95 mm wide and 125 mm tall, larger than an ordinary bulb. Turn the power off, screw the bulb in by hand and avoid gripping the mirrored part hard.

Design and use

Mirror-crown bulbs are at their best in open pendants, wall lights with an exposed lampholder and reflector shades, where the light bounced back from the crown is spread by the fitting. The result is soft and free of glare, which suits dining areas and bedrooms.

Questions and answers

Does the mirror reduce the light?

The bulb gives 450 lm in total. The mirror changes the direction of the light rather than the amount: it goes back and sideways instead of forwards.

Is it dimmable?

Faro does not list this bulb as dimmable, so use it on a standard on/off circuit.

Will it fit a small shade?

Measure first. The globe is 95 mm in diameter and 125 mm tall including the cap.
