Installation and specifications

Installation and assembly preparation: This floor lamp rests directly on the floor, with no need for drilling or wall or ceiling anchors. Before placing it, choose the final position taking into account the location of the nearest outlet, as the cable must reach without tension. Make sure the surface is flat and firm so that the base remains stable. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so have it ready before using the lamp for the first time. The voltage range 100V–240V makes it compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain and most countries.

Usage and care guidelines: Clean the structure with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive products or liquids that may damage the satin gold finish or the black part of the body. Do not exceed 15W of bulb wattage to protect the materials and ensure safe operation. If the lamp is not going to be used for a long period, unplug it from the outlet. Periodically check that the base is level and that the cable shows no signs of wear.

Design and use

The WHIZZ lamp by FARO was created as part of a family of luminaires conceived with aesthetic coherence. Designer Christoph Friedrich Wagner proposed a line where the finishes take centre stage as much as the form. The result is a floor lamp that does not need to rely on other decorative elements to make sense: it works on its own.

The body is made of steel, a material that gives the structure solidity without adding excessive weight. At 1.67 kg, it is easy to move and reposition according to the needs of the space. The base covers 300 x 300 mm, a compact footprint for a piece of this height. The black finish of the body contrasts with the satin gold, which adds warmth without looking old-fashioned or excessive. It is a combination of materials that is very common today in contemporary interiors, both in Nordic spaces and in more eclectic settings.

In the living room, this lamp works as a secondary light source. The direct lighting it provides is warmer and more localised than that of a general ceiling light, making it possible to create ambient zones within the same space. Does the WHIZZ lamp need to be fixed to the wall or ceiling to remain stable?

No. It is a floor lamp that rests directly on the floor. It does not require any type of anchor. The 300 x 300 mm base provides sufficient stability on flat surfaces.

What type of bulb does it require and what is the maximum accepted wattage?

It uses a bulb with an E27 base, which is not included in the purchase. The maximum accepted wattage is 15W. It is recommended to use an LED bulb to make the most of that power limit.

Does the satin gold finish cover the entire lamp or only part of it?

Satin gold is the main material of the lamp, while the body has a black finish. The combination of both finishes is part of the original design of the WHIZZ family.
