Overview

The SAMBA floor lamp by Faro Lab is a floor luminaire designed for interior spaces where light should accompany without imposing. With a banded shade in a beige tone and a steel body in a matte white finish, it fits well in a living room, bedroom or hallway where a warm and discreet lighting point is desired. It is also a solid option for hospitality projects: hotels, reception areas or lounges where atmosphere matters as much as functionality.

The SAMBA collection was created by the Faro Lab design studio, the creative line of the FARO brand, headquartered in Spain. FARO has been developing luminaires for the residential and contract markets for decades, with a focus on balancing form and everyday use.

Installation and specifications

Before placing the lamp, choose a spot near an accessible power outlet. As a floor luminaire, it requires no drilling or anchoring to walls or ceilings. Simply place it on a flat, stable surface and connect it to the power supply. Check that the voltage available in your installation is compatible with the indicated 100V–240V range. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so have it ready before the first start-up.

To clean the metal body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. The banded fabric shade can be cleaned with a soft brush or dry cloth to avoid altering the texture of the material. Do not expose the lamp to direct moisture or install it in a bathroom without adequate protection conditions.

Design and use

The SAMBA floor lamp stands 1530 mm tall, making it a piece with a real presence within the space. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it does not compete with the rest of the furniture either. Its proportions — 400 mm in length and 400 mm in depth at the base — give it stability without taking up more floor space than necessary.

The body is made of steel with a matte white finish. It is a material that holds up well over time and maintains a clean look without requiring special maintenance. Matte white, unlike glossy finishes, does not reflect light in a striking way and integrates easily into modern, Nordic or minimalist interiors.

The banded shade in a beige tone is the element that defines the visual character of this lamp. The banded fabric filters the light from the bulb and distributes it in a diffuse manner, creating a warm atmosphere around the lamp without glare. This type of lighting is especially useful in a living room or bedroom, where ambient light makes the space more comfortable than strong, direct illumination.

In a living room, the SAMBA floor lamp can be placed next to a sofa or in a corner to create a second light source independent of the ceiling. In a bedroom it acts as an alternative to the bedside table lamp or as a complement in a reading area. It also works well in a wider hallway where warmth is desired without installing an additional ceiling luminaire.

Although it is not specifically designed for kitchens or bathrooms, it can be integrated into adjacent areas, such as a small sitting room next to the kitchen or a dining room accessible from the food preparation area. In a dining room, for example, a floor lamp on one side adds a layer of light that softens the general lighting and makes the space more pleasant during dinner.

The use of wood in the environment where the lamp is placed can complement its aesthetics well. A wooden bookshelf, a parquet floor or a table with a wooden structure establish a natural dialogue with the beige and white tones of the SAMBA. If the space features wooden elements, the lamp integrates effortlessly. Likewise, in rooms with light-colored walls or textiles in neutral tones, the beige shade maintains visual coherence.

Compatibility with an E27 LED bulb allows the color temperature to be adjusted according to the use of the space. In a rest room, a warm light bulb (2700–3000 K) reinforces the sense of calm. In a dining room or dual-purpose living room, a slightly more neutral temperature may adapt better to different times of the day.

The net weight of 1.67 kg indicates that it is a lightweight piece, easy to relocate if you change the layout of your furniture. This flexibility is a real advantage in spaces that are frequently reorganized or in hospitality projects where the arrangement of furniture may vary by season.
