Overview

The ARTIS floor lamp by FARO is a luminaire designed for the living room, bedroom, or any room where warm light and a discreet visual presence are desired. Its height of 1500 mm makes it a piece that occupies space naturally, without overwhelming the environment. The timeless design by Alex & Manel Lluscà allows it to fit into very different interiors: from a classically styled living room to a dining room with more contemporary lines.

The bronze finish on the steel body gives it character without being eye-catching. It is not a lamp that imposes itself, but rather one that accompanies. It works well alongside wooden elements, dark textiles, or matte surfaces. FARO is a brand with a long track record in interior lighting, and the ARTIS collection reflects the balance between design and functionality that characterizes it.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. As a floor lamp with floor mounting, it does not require any construction work or fixed electrical installation. It is placed directly on the surface and plugged into a standard outlet. Before turning it on, make sure the cable is not under any furniture or in areas with foot traffic. Be sure to use an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. The lamp is compatible with voltages between 100 V and 240 V, so it can be used without an adapter in most countries.

Use and maintenance. Clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the bronze finish. Do not touch the bulb with unprotected hands when it is hot. Always unplug the lamp before changing the bulb or cleaning any part of the structure.

Design and use

The ARTIS lamp has a clear presence in the space without needing to be the center of attention. The steel base with a bronze finish conveys solidity, and its slim profile does not take up more visual space than necessary. At 1500 mm in height, the light it projects falls in an intermediate zone, ideal for reading, creating a relaxed atmosphere in the living room, or adding a complementary layer of lighting in the bedroom.

The steel body is resistant and stable. With nearly 3.6 kg of net weight, the base is firm enough that the lamp does not move easily. This is especially noticeable in homes with children or in spaces with continuous movement. The combination of steel and bronze provides a visual warmth reminiscent of wooden pieces or natural finishes, without being rustic or old-fashioned.

In the living room, a floor lamp like this can be placed next to a sofa or in a corner to balance the general lighting. It does not depend on the ceiling or the distribution of fixed light points, which gives freedom to rearrange the space when needed. In the bedroom it serves a similar function: it replaces the bedside table when space is tight, or complements the ceiling light to create a more intimate atmosphere at night.

It also works well in the dining room, especially if the table is placed near a wall or in an area where overhead lighting does not reach well. A floor lamp in that context does not interfere with walkways and adds a side light that softens shadows. In the hallway, depending on its width, it can be a warmer solution than a ceiling light or a recessed spotlight.

The design of the ARTIS collection was developed with environments in mind where lighting matters as much as the appearance of the product. That is why it is used in both private homes and hotels, where the level of aesthetic demand tends to be higher. This versatility is one of its main characteristics: a single lamp that works equally well in a hotel corridor and in the bedroom of a renovated apartment.

As for integration with other materials, bronze pairs well with natural wood, marble, linen, and surfaces lacquered in white or black. If the space has golden or copper-toned elements, the lamp reinforces them without clashing. It can also coexist with more modern styles if the rest of the furniture has clean lines, as the ARTIS design is not ornate. The lighting it generates creates a balanced atmosphere, without being excessively dark or too intense.

Questions and answers

How much does the lamp weigh and is it stable on the floor without anchors?

The ARTIS base has a net weight of 3.59 kg. That mass is sufficient for the base to remain stable under normal conditions of use, without the need for anchors or additional fixings to the floor.

What type of bulb does it require and what is the maximum permitted wattage?

The lamp uses an E27 socket and accepts a maximum power of 15 W in LED format. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately before the first installation.

Is the bronze finish on the steel body resistant to everyday use?

The steel body with bronze finish is designed for continuous indoor use. With basic maintenance, cleaning with a dry cloth and avoiding abrasive products, the finish remains in good condition for years.
