Overview

The WINDSOR wall light by FARO Barcelona is a wall-mounted luminaire designed to generate warm, enveloping light inside the home. Its large linen shade filters light softly, without creating annoying glare or overly dark areas. The result is ambient lighting that transforms any corner into a more welcoming space.

This wall light fits well in a bedroom, living room, dining room or hallway. It can be placed as a single piece or combined with other lamps from the same collection to create a more uniform effect. The matte black finish of the metal body contrasts with the off-white of the linen shade, giving a clean and balanced look without the need for major decorative interventions.

FARO Barcelona has been developing luminaires for domestic use for decades. Their products are designed to last and to integrate naturally into different types of interiors, from the simplest to those seeking a more refined touch.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, a recessed electrical junction box in the wall is required, as the fitting is mounted directly onto the surface. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting, always disconnect the power at the electrical panel. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. Check that the chosen bulb does not exceed 15 W so as not to overload the installation.

The linen shade may accumulate dust over time. Clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents. The matte black steel body can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid direct contact with water in the electrical connection areas. Do not touch the bulb with bare hands when it is hot.

Design and use

The WINDSOR collection by FARO Barcelona is distinguished by the use of large shades, which are its most characteristic element. In this wall light version, the shade is made of linen with an off-white finish, a material that diffuses light evenly and adds a warm visual texture. The body is made of steel with a matte black finish, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary visual weight.

This wall light works especially well in spaces where background lighting is desired, rather than direct and powerful illumination. In the bedroom, placed to one side of the headboard, it creates a calm atmosphere that invites rest. In the living room, it can act as a secondary light point that complements the main ceiling lamp. In the dining room, it adds warmth without drawing attention away from the table.

In larger kitchens with a seating area or reading nook, this wall light can also find its place. It is not intended to illuminate worktops or work areas, but rather to add ambient light in those areas where the general lighting needs to be softened. Similarly, in hallways or passageways, a lamp of this type avoids the feeling of an unlit corridor and makes the space feel more inhabited.

The matte black finish of the body is a feature that works well with different styles. It combines with modern-style interiors, with spaces that mix wood and metal, or with Nordic-style environments where the contrast between natural materials and dark structures is part of the design. The linen shade reinforces that sense of warmth and connects well with fabrics, light woods and neutral colour palettes.

As for the size of the shade, it is one of the aspects that make this wall light a recognisable piece. It is not a discreet luminaire that goes unnoticed, but rather an element that has a presence on the wall. This also makes it a decorative element, not just a functional one.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows you to choose the colour temperature that best suits each room. A warmer light (2700K–3000K) reinforces the cosy atmosphere of the space, while more neutral tones can work in passageways such as hallways or bathrooms.

Although this wall light is not certified for use in directly wet areas, it can be installed without issue in well-ventilated bathrooms away from water. In such spaces, the lamp provides a soft light that transforms the bathroom experience without the need for more complex solutions.
