Overview

The WHIZZ wall light by FARO is a wall luminaire designed for interior spaces where detail matters. The combination of black and satin gold gives it a clear presence without being overwhelming. It is a lamp designed for those who want more than functional lighting: an object that also becomes part of the atmosphere.

It works well in the living room, bedroom, dining room or hallway. It suits interiors with an elegant touch, where metallic finishes and defined shapes take centre stage. Its design, created by Christoph Friedrich Wagner, is conceived to use a decorative filament bulb, which reinforces the visual character of the piece.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its catalogue combines design and functionality, with products intended for both the home and larger projects.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall where you are going to fix it is solid and can support the weight of the product. Cut the power at the electrical panel before starting any work. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is most advisable to use an electrician. Check that the existing wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage. The fixing must be secure and level before connecting the lamp.

To clean the wall light, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or those containing solvents, as they can damage the satin gold finish or the black paint on the body. Do not clean the luminaire with the light on or when the body is hot. Periodically check that the fixing elements are in good condition.

Design and use

The WHIZZ wall light has a clear visual composition: matte black steel body and satin gold details. This is a combination that has established itself in recent years as one of the most sought-after finishes in interior lighting, precisely because it balances contrast and restraint. It is not a finish that draws excessive attention, but neither does it go unnoticed.

The metal structure gives the whole piece solidity. With a net weight of 3,4 kg, the wall light has a real physical presence, something that is noticeable both when installing it and when seeing it on the wall. The dimensions — 500 mm in height and 250 mm in diameter — allow it to occupy its space without looking disproportionate in standard-sized rooms.

It is designed for an E27 LED bulb with a maximum of 15 W. The choice of filament bulb, for which this lamp is specifically conceived, adds an important decorative component: the warm, visible light of the filament complements the gold finish and creates a more intimate atmosphere. In the living room or dining room, that type of lighting completely changes the perception of the space.

In the bedroom it works particularly well as a side light, installed at bedside table height or slightly higher. It frees up surface space and gives the room a tidier appearance than a table lamp. The light it projects is sufficient for reading or creating atmosphere without being intrusive.

In the bathroom, installed next to the mirror, it provides direct and balanced lighting. The black and satin gold finish holds up well in environments where there are humidity variations, as long as it is not in direct contact with water. For small bathrooms, its scale is appropriate: it does not take up space on the countertop or on the shelves.

In hallways, where space is often limited and lighting is frequently overlooked, a wall light like this solves the problem simply. It is fixed to the wall, requires no floor space, and can turn a functional hallway into a corridor with character.

Christoph Friedrich Wagner's design maintains a clear line within the WHIZZ family. There are no superfluous elements: the form is straightforward, the materials are what you see, and the result is a modern luminaire that fits into contemporary interiors without needing additional context. It combines well with dark wood furniture, concrete or plaster surfaces, and other metallic elements in black or gold that may be in the same room.

The kitchen is another space where this wall light makes sense, especially if installed in passageway areas or on walls where the aim is to reinforce ambient lighting without resorting to ceiling recessed solutions.

Questions and answers

Does the WHIZZ wall light include the E27 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The wall light comes ready for an E27 LED type bulb, with a maximum power of 15 W. It is recommended to use a decorative filament bulb, as the lamp's design is conceived to complement that type of light.

What type of wall does this wall light's fixing support and how much does it weigh?

The wall light can be installed on solid masonry walls, plasterboard with a suitable wall plug or other solid materials. The net weight of the product is 3,4 kg, so the fixing must be secure. On plasterboard walls it is advisable to use wall plugs specifically designed for that material.

Does the 100V–240V voltage mean I can use it outside Spain without an adapter?

Yes. The voltage range covers both standard European current and that of other countries. It does not require a voltage adapter to operate on electrical networks within that range.
