Overview

The REM wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed by Alex & Manel Lluscà. Its steel structure in an antique gold finish and white shade form a combination that fits both residential interiors and hospitality spaces: hotel rooms, restaurants, or any environment where lighting plays an important role in setting the atmosphere.

The wall light is designed to be mounted on the wall and offers two functions in one piece: ambient lighting and reading light, thanks to its integrated LED reader. This makes it especially useful in the bedroom, living room, dining room, or any area where supplementary light is needed without resorting to an additional floor lamp.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the decorative lighting sector. Their collections combine careful design with quality materials, aimed at those looking for solutions that last and do not lose their presence over time.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to fix the wall light directly onto a solid wall surface. Before starting, make sure the electrical connection point is switched off at the main panel. The wiring must be embedded or properly gathered to prevent it from being visible. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is most advisable to seek the help of a professional electrician. Check that the wall can support the weight of the assembly before fixing the anchors.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the structure with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or liquids that may damage the antique gold finish. The white shade can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not handle the bulb while the wall light is on or immediately after turning it off, as it may be hot. Remember that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

Design and use

The REM collection was born with the intention of creating a lamp with its own character without appearing overdone. The design by Alex & Manel Lluscà is based on restrained lines: a slender body, a minimalist base, and a silhouette that does not visually occupy more space than necessary. The result is a wall light that integrates into the environment without imposing itself, yet does not go unnoticed either.

The body of the wall light is made of steel, giving it solidity and a sense of consistent finish. The antique gold tone of the structure adds warmth without falling into ostentation. It is not a bright or aggressive gold, but one with texture and depth, reminiscent more of classic finishes than modern metallics. The shade, in white, balances that warmth with a clean and neutral presence.

This wall light can work very well in a bedroom, placed on either side of the bed instead of the classic bedside tables with lamps. By including an LED reader, it offers directed light for reading without disturbing the rest of the room. In that context, the antique gold finish can complement wooden headboards or textiles in warm tones, creating a cohesive atmosphere.

In the living room, the REM wall light can be used as a secondary light source next to a sofa or on a wall that needs definition. The lighting it provides does not replace a central lamp, but complements the overall atmosphere with a closer and more enveloping type of light. In a dining room, placed on the wall next to a side table or sideboard, it can reinforce the ambiance without requiring any building work.

The wall light can also be installed in a bathroom, provided it is placed in an area without direct contact with water and that the installation conditions are appropriate. In larger bathrooms, where there is space for a light point above the mirror or next to a piece of furniture, this type of wall light provides warmer lighting than typical ceiling spotlights.

In hallways, the lamp can serve an orientation function. A wall light in the wall of a long corridor distributes light in a way that the space feels more welcoming. Hallways tend to be areas where lighting is reduced to a basic solution, but a wall light with personality like this one changes that perception without requiring major changes.

The REM family is also aimed at hospitality projects: hotel rooms, restaurants, or workspaces with a carefully considered interior design. The lamp adapts well to these environments because its timeless design does not clash with very different styles. It can coexist with straight-lined furniture, vintage elements, or combined wood and steel surfaces.
