Overview

OTTON is a wall light by FARO designed for those looking for a light source with its own character. The linen shade gives it a warm, natural look that fits well in a bedroom, living room, dining room, or hallway. It also works very well in hotels, restaurants, and other spaces where the goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere without resorting to overly eye-catching solutions.

The lamp combines a steel structure in a matte white finish with a shade made locally from natural materials. That contrast between the industrial quality of the body and the organic nature of the linen is what makes this wall light interesting without being excessive. FARO is a brand with experience in interior and exterior lighting, known for designs that balance form and functionality.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light correctly, it is important to fix the base directly onto a solid surface, preferably using suitable plugs and screws for the wall type. Before starting the installation, make sure to cut the power supply from the electrical panel. The lamp accepts voltages from 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a certified electrician if you do not have experience with electrical connections.

The linen shade should be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without harsh chemical products that could damage the natural fiber. The matte white steel body can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid prolonged direct moisture on the shade. Do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W when choosing the E27 LED bulb.

Design and use

The OTTON wall light has compact proportions that make it versatile: 200 mm high, 120 mm long, and 100 mm deep. It does not take up too much space on the wall, but has enough visual presence to function as a decorative element on its own. The net weight of 1.67 kg indicates a solid construction without being excessively heavy for the wall mount.

The beige linen shade filters light softly. When the lamp is on, the fabric diffuses the beam and casts a warm light on the wall and surrounding area. That effect is especially pleasant in a bedroom, where direct, strong lighting can be uncomfortable. It also works well in a living room as supplementary light alongside a main light source, or in a dining room to create a more intimate atmosphere during dinners.

In a bathroom, the wall light can be installed on either side of the mirror for more balanced facial lighting, as long as the area is not directly exposed to water. In hallways, a pair of wall lights distributed at regular intervals can completely transform the feel of the space, turning a functional corridor into an area with its own identity.

The matte white steel structure is neutral and adapts to different styles. In an interior with clean lines and light colors, the white body blends in without drawing attention. In a more rustic or Nordic setting, the linen brings the natural texture that complements woods, fibers, and unlacquered surfaces. The combination of steel and linen can also work in contexts with vintage elements or more elaborate design, where the mix of materials is part of the style.

The shade is made locally from natural materials, reflecting a more artisanal production process. This is evident in the texture of the linen, which is not perfectly uniform but has the natural variation typical of organic fabrics. For some interiors, that is exactly what is sought: something that does not look mass-produced.

In open kitchens integrated with the dining area, the wall light can be installed on the dividing wall or in the work area to provide localized light while maintaining the decorative coherence of the space. In hotel rooms or accommodations with a carefully curated aesthetic, this type of wall lamp often appears on either side of the headboard, replacing bedside table lamps and freeing up space on the nightstands.

The E27 base accepts any standard LED bulb with that fitting, making it easy to find a replacement. As a modern lamp with LED compatibility, energy consumption can be kept low without sacrificing light quality. The choice of bulb color temperature — warm, neutral, or cool — allows the wall light to be adapted to the intended use in each room.

Questions and answers

Is the OTTON linen shade made in an artisanal or industrial way?

The shade is made locally from natural materials. This implies a production process closer to artisanal craftsmanship, which may result in small texture variations inherent to linen as an organic material.

Does the OTTON wall light include an E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp has an E27 socket and accepts LED bulbs of up to 15 W. It is necessary to purchase the bulb separately before installing it.

Is the voltage of this wall light compatible with the standard electrical grid?

Yes. OTTON operates in a range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard domestic electrical grid without the need for additional adapters or transformers.
