Overview

MAGRITTE is an adjustable wall light designed to illuminate paintings and works of art hung on the wall. It is installed directly on the vertical surface and directs the beam of light exactly where needed, without unnecessary dispersion. It is a lamp designed for those who want the focus of attention to fall on the illuminated object, not on the fixture itself.

The wall light fits well in any room where there is something worth highlighting: a hallway with photographs, a living room with a main painting, a dining room with a decorative composition. Its satin nickel finish and clean lines allow it to go unnoticed as a visual element, fulfilling its function without adding noise to the environment.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine aesthetic criteria with solid technical specifications, designed both for interior design projects and for users who renovate their home on their own.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an electrical connection point on the wall is required at the location where the wall light will be placed. Being a wall-mounted lamp, it is anchored directly to the vertical surface with the included mounting hardware. Before making any connection, make sure to cut the power supply from the main panel. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician.

To clean the body surface, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the satin nickel finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth; do not use scourers or products that may scratch. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected.

Design and use

The MAGRITTE wall light has an elongated proportion: 452 mm long with just 45 mm in height. That narrow, horizontal geometry is precisely what allows it to integrate above a painting without visually competing with it. The lamp is perceived as a thin line on the wall, something that is there but does not draw attention to itself.

The body is made of aluminium and steel, with a satin nickel finish. This type of finish has a discreet presence: it does not shine excessively, does not oxidise easily, and maintains a well-kept appearance over time. In rooms with other metallic elements, such as frames, handles or shelving structures, satin nickel easily finds its place without appearing discordant.

The diffuser is made of PMMA with an opal finish. This material distributes light softly, preventing the LED source from being directly visible. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which enhances the perception of tones and textures of any work of art or decorative element. It does not distort colours, which is especially useful when illuminating photographs, paintings or illustrations where chromatic detail matters.

The 8W SMD LED light source with 500 lumens is included, and the driver is also built into the lamp. No additional components need to be purchased to get it running. It operates at the standard voltage of 220V–240V, compatible with the usual domestic electrical network.

As for the spaces where it makes most sense to place this wall light, the living room is probably the most common. A wall with a painting or a composition of prints is a typical place where this type of lamp fulfils its function exactly. Also in the dining room, where a work of art on the wall gains presence when well lit, without needing to resort to ceiling spotlights that do not always point in the right direction.

In the bedroom, the picture light makes sense when there is something hanging on the wall that one wants to highlight without adding intense general lighting. In that context, the warm 3000K light creates a relaxed atmosphere. Similarly, in hallways where a gallery of photographs or illustrations is displayed, this wall light resolves the lighting of each piece cleanly and without visible cables.

Although it is not its primary use, it can also work in the bathroom if there is a wall where a decorative element has been placed and an adequate electrical installation is available. In smaller rooms, the lamp's narrow profile prevents it from taking up unnecessary visual space.

In terms of style, MAGRITTE adapts well to interiors with a minimalist, contemporary or Nordic tendency. The absence of ornamental details makes it compatible with tidy spaces where each element has a clear function. It does not add decoration, but rather enhances the decoration that already exists.

Questions and answers

Does the MAGRITTE wall light allow the direction of the light beam to be adjusted towards the painting?

Yes. MAGRITTE is an adjustable picture light, which means the head can be directed to point directly at the object to be illuminated. This allows the angle to be adjusted according to the exact position of the painting or artwork on the wall.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 8W, 3000K SMD LED light source, as well as the driver required for its operation. No additional components need to be purchased.

How far does the wall light protrude from the wall once installed?

The depth of the wall light is 224 mm, which is the distance the lamp extends from the wall outward. This is a relevant piece of data for calculating whether there is sufficient space, especially in hallways or narrower passageways.
