Overview

LEAD is a wall light by the brand FARO designed to illuminate reading areas. It mounts directly on the wall and directs light where it is needed, without taking up space on tables or shelves. It is a lamp that combines two unusual materials together: an aluminium body and a leather-covered arm. The aged gold finish gives it its own character, far from more generic designs.

It works with integrated COB LED technology, so there is no need to search for or replace bulbs. The light it emits is warm, at 3000K, which is comfortable for reading without straining the eyes. It is a valid option for both the bedroom and the living room, in any corner where someone sits down to read or rest.

FARO is a company with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine design with functionality and are intended to integrate well into real domestic spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the area of the wall where you are going to place it is free of hidden pipes or cables. As it is a surface-mounted wall luminaire, the wiring must be prepared in advance at the mounting point. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to have the installation carried out by an electrician. The wall light operates at the standard voltage of 220V-240V, compatible with the usual domestic network.

To clean the aluminium part, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. The leather arm requires specific care: avoid aggressive cleaning products and prolonged moisture. Clean that area with a soft, dry cloth. Do not install this lamp in spaces with high humidity, such as bathrooms without adequate ventilation. Although the lamp can be used in hallways or living rooms without any problem, in very damp areas it is advisable to consider alternatives with specific protection.

Design and use

The LEAD wall light by FARO starts from a simple idea: a wall lamp that serves for reading, that does not intrude, and that at the same time has a visual presence in the space. The result is a design that blends two materials with very different textures. The body, made of aluminium with an aged gold finish, has solidity and a warm tone reminiscent of vintage or classic contemporary pieces. The arm, covered in leather, adds a different texture, visually softer, which contrasts well with the metal.

This lamp is an option designed primarily for the bedroom and the living room, although it can also fit in hallways where a functional light point with some decorative character is desired. In the bedroom, it is usually placed at headboard height, allowing reading without the need to turn on the room's general lighting. In the living room, it can be installed next to a reading armchair or on one side of the sofa, creating a warm and intimate light zone.

The aged gold finish works well in interiors with earthy tones, natural wood, textiles in beige or warm grey. It can also be integrated into spaces with wrought iron elements or a more classic style. It is not a wall light that goes unnoticed, but nor does it impose: its size is compact and its weight light, so it does not require any special wall support.

The COB LED technology incorporated in this lamp provides uniform, flicker-free light with very low consumption of just 3W. The temperature of 3000K produces a warm white light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which is pleasant in rest and reading spaces. With the light source already integrated, there is no need to worry about compatibility or finding replacements.

The wall light measures 400 mm in height and 400 mm in depth, with a thickness of just 50 mm at the part that rests against the wall. These dimensions make it suitable for narrow walls, hallways or spaces where a larger lamp would be excessive. Its net weight of 0.5 kg makes installation easy without the need for complex fixings.

As for the spaces where it can be used, the combination of leather and aluminium with an aged gold finish sets it apart from more technical or purely minimalist environments. It fits better in warm settings, with a mix of natural materials or in rooms where a different touch is sought without going as far as an ornate style. In the living room it can coexist well with dark wood furniture or upholstery in neutral tones.

Questions and answers

Is the leather arm of the LEAD wall light rigid or can it be adjusted to direct the light?

The arm is designed as a fixed part of the lamp's structure. The specifications do not indicate that it is articulated, so the direction of the light depends on the position in which the wall light is installed on the wall.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The LEAD wall light incorporates integrated COB LED technology, so no additional bulb needs to be purchased for it to function.

Is this wall light suitable for installation in bathrooms or damp areas?

The technical specifications do not include any declared IP protection level, so installation in wet bathrooms or areas with splashing is not recommended. It is more suitable for bedrooms, living rooms or dry hallways.
