Overview

The LAO wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those who want to add a light source without any hassle. Its compact format and matte white finish make it compatible with spaces where design matters, but without requiring major interventions. It works well in a bedroom, a hallway, a bathroom, or any corner that lacks direct lighting.

What sets this wall light apart is the integrated switch on the base. There is no need to reach for the plug or rely on the wall switch: it turns on and off directly from the lamp itself. It is a small detail that, in practice, makes a real difference.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in home lighting. The LAO collection reflects its commitment to the essential: clean shapes, quality materials, and solutions that work without visual overload.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, a nearby power outlet is required at the mounting location. It is recommended to carry out the installation with the power switched off at the electrical panel. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to seek the help of an electrician. The fixture mounts directly onto the wall surface, following the instructions included in the box.

To clean the body of the wall light, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The LED lamp is included and does not require regular replacement. Avoid handling the PMMA diffuser with objects that could scratch it.

Design and use

The LAO wall light has a discreet presence on the wall. Its straight lines and matte white finish integrate easily with light-coloured walls, but also work as a subtle contrast on darker surfaces. It does not draw excessive attention, yet it does not go unnoticed either: it occupies its place naturally.

The body combines aluminium and ABS, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. It is a lamp that weighs just 600 grams, making installation easy on any type of wall. The opal PMMA diffuser distributes light evenly, with no concentrated bright spots or sharp shadows. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, close to that of a traditional incandescent bulb, which is inviting without being excessively yellow.

In the bedroom, this wall light works as a reading light or as ambient lighting beside the bed. Its integrated switch allows you to turn it off without getting up, something that is especially appreciated in that context. In the living room, it can be used to illuminate a work area, a shelf, or a corner that falls outside the reach of the main lighting. Two units at the same height on opposite sides of a sofa create a balanced and visually tidy distribution.

In the kitchen and dining room, the wall light provides functional lighting without the need for renovations. Placed above a countertop or next to a walkway, it meets lighting needs without adding distracting elements. In Nordic or minimalist-style spaces, it fits naturally. It also works well in interiors that combine wood and white, where its matte finish does not create harsh contrasts.

In the bathroom, it is a practical solution for illuminating areas left in shadow by overhead lighting. Placed on either side of the mirror, it offers more even light on the face, without the shadows created by a light source from above. In hallways, its small size allows it to be installed without protruding excessively from the wall, which is useful in narrow spaces.

The 4W LED light consumes little energy and does not generate noticeable heat during use. This makes it suitable for rooms where the lamp remains on for long periods. Since it is included with the purchase, there is no need to search for or buy a separate light source: simply install it and it is ready to use.

The design of the LAO collection is built around a clear idea: that the lamp should not be the focal point, but the element that allows the space to function better. This is evident in the absence of ornamental details and in the coherence between form and function. It is a wall light that adapts, that does not impose a specific style, and that leaves room to combine it with other decorative elements according to each person's taste.

Questions and answers

Does the LAO wall light include the bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included. No additional bulb is required to use the wall light from the very first moment.

Is the 3000K colour temperature suitable for a bedroom or a bathroom?

Yes. 3000K produces a warm light that is comfortable in rest spaces such as the bedroom and in the bathroom. It is similar to the tone of a traditional incandescent bulb, without being too yellow.

Does the integrated switch replace the wall switch, or do they work independently?

The switch on the base of the wall light allows you to turn it on and off directly from the lamp. It works independently of the wall switch, which adds convenience in spaces where there is no nearby switch or when immediate control over that light point is needed.
