Overview

The DANTE wall light by FARO is a wall lamp with two independent light sources: a 5W indirect ambient light and an orientable 3W LED reader. Each function has its own switch, allowing you to use only the ambient light, only the reader, or both at the same time. It is a practical solution for the bedroom, though it also fits well in hallways, reading areas, or any corner where both general illumination and directed light are needed.

The satin gold finish gives it presence without being flashy. The lines are clean, the volume is minimal, and the shape follows a geometric logic that does not interrupt the surroundings. FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting, recognized for combining functionality and style in home products.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the wall box is properly recessed and that the wiring supports the load of the wall light. As a surface-mounted wall luminaire, installation is carried out directly on the wall, with no additional construction work required. It is recommended that electrical installation be carried out by a professional, as the bulb is not included and you must ensure that the light source is compatible with 220V–240V and the indicated wattage.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or those containing solvents that could damage the gold finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Always disconnect the power before cleaning the wall light or handling any part of the interior.

Design and use

The DANTE wall light has a body made of aluminium and steel with a satin gold finish. These materials ensure that the structure is lightweight, with a net weight of only 0.37 kg, yet solid enough for a stable wall installation. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the light and prevents direct glare, making the lamp comfortable whether it is on as part of the bedroom's general lighting or when only the reader is in use.

The integrated honeycomb panel improves the quality of the light emitted by the lamp, reducing the flicker effect and distributing the beam more evenly. This kind of technical detail is not always appreciated at first glance, but it is noticeable in daily use, especially when the wall light is in a room where time is spent reading or resting.

The orientable reader is one of the most practical elements of the design. Its long arm allows it to be moved easily and the beam directed exactly where needed, without having to reposition the lamp or adjust the position of the book or screen. The colour temperature of 2700K provides a warm light that is pleasant at night, without overstimulating the eyes before sleep.

The two independent switches make the lamp very versatile. You can leave only the ambient light on to create a relaxed atmosphere in the living room or bedroom, or activate only the reader when you want to read without illuminating the entire room. That independence between the two light sources is what sets this wall light apart from other simpler models.

As for the environment where it works best, the bedroom is its most natural space. Installed at bedside table height, it handles both reading light and the room's decorative illumination. It also fits in long hallways where orientation lighting is desired without installing a ceiling spotlight. In rooms with low ceilings or areas where space is limited, a wall lamp like this takes up less volume than a wall light with a bulky shade.

The geometric format of the DANTE makes it compatible with modern interiors as well as more eclectic spaces where different styles coexist. The gold finish works well alongside neutral tones such as white, grey, or beige, but also contrasts interestingly with dark surfaces. In a bright bathroom with marble walls or in a dining room with light wood furniture, this wall light can be a light point that adds character without dominating the space.

If the bathroom is large enough and the installation is carried out away from splash zones, the wall light can also work as a supporting lamp beside a mirror. The same applies in the dining room, where two symmetrical wall lights on either side of a painting or console table can create elegant lighting without taking up space on the table or ceiling.

Questions and answers

Is the bulb included in the packaging?

No, the light source is not included. It must be purchased separately. The wall light works with a COB LED light source compatible with a voltage of 220V–240V and a maximum wattage of 5W.
