Overview

The COTTON wall light by FARO is a fabric shade wall lamp that brings soft, enveloping light to any corner of the home. Its round shape and matte white finish make it a good fit in spaces where more than simple functional lighting is desired. It is a suitable option for the bedroom, living room, dining room, or hallway, where a wall light can completely transform the atmosphere of a room.

The fabric shade is what sets this lamp apart from other similar options. It filters light naturally, without harshness, creating a calm atmosphere that is especially noticeable in the late afternoon or evening hours. The body is made of steel with a matte white finish, giving it solidity without adding unnecessary bulk.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products are designed to combine functionality with aesthetics, and the COTTON wall light is a good example of that philosophy.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light correctly, an existing power outlet in the wall or a conduit prepared for wiring is required. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves a direct connection to the electrical network. Before starting the assembly, make sure to cut the power supply at the distribution board. Verify that the wall can support the weight of the light and use the appropriate wall plugs and screws for the type of surface, whether plasterboard, brick, or concrete.

The lamp does not include a bulb, so you will need to purchase an E27 LED type with a maximum power of 15 W. Always make sure to use a bulb within the indicated power range to avoid damaging the installation or the fabric shade.

To clean the steel body, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The fabric shade can be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush to remove accumulated dust. Do not use water directly on the fabric or expose it to prolonged moisture. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it.

Design and use

The COTTON wall light has a simple design that does not need to justify itself with excess. The combination of matte white steel and fabric shade creates a pleasant contrast: the structure feels clean and orderly, while the fabric adds visual warmth. It is not a lamp that demands attention aggressively, but one that integrates naturally into the space.

With dimensions of 370 mm in height, 150 mm in width, and 120 mm in depth, it is a compact wall light. This makes it particularly useful in bathrooms, hallways, or rooms where available wall space is limited. In the bathroom, for example, it can be placed on either side of the mirror to achieve more uniform light on the face, without the shadows created by an overhead lamp. In hallways, a wall light of these characteristics marks the path without visually overcrowding the space.

In the bedroom, this type of wall lamp has clear advantages over a bedside table lamp. It frees up the nightstand, eliminates visible cables, and positions the light exactly where it is needed for reading or creating a more relaxed atmosphere before sleep. The fabric shade contributes to this effect: it does not project a direct, harsh light, but a diffused light that is easy on the eyes.

In the living room or dining room, the COTTON wall light can be used as supplementary lighting or as a decorative element. Placed on a wall without windows or next to a painting, it creates a warm focal point that complements the main lighting in the room. In a dining room with central lighting over the table, adding a wall light can soften the contrast between illuminated areas and areas in shadow.

The matte white finish is versatile. It works well with Nordic interiors, neutral color palettes, or spaces where natural materials such as wood predominate. It also fits with more modern and contemporary styles, where the clean lines of the wall light do not clash with current design furniture. Although the fabric shade may evoke a certain classic or romantic style, the metal structure balances it toward a more neutral and contemporary result.

Compatibility with voltages between 100 V and 240 V makes it suitable for use in different countries without the need for adapters or transformers. It is a practical detail that broadens its possibilities if the location or country of use changes at any point.

In short, the COTTON wall light is a lamp designed for those who want good lighting without sacrificing an aesthetically pleasing result.

Questions and answers

Does the fabric shade of the COTTON wall light affect the amount of light it emits?

Yes, the fabric shade filters part of the light and produces a more diffused and soft illumination. It is ideal for environments where intense light is not needed, such as the bedroom or the living room in the late afternoon hours. If you are looking for more brightness, you can use an E27 LED bulb close to the maximum allowed 15 W.

Is it possible to install this wall light in a bathroom?

The COTTON wall light is designed for general indoor use. It can be installed in a bathroom as long as it is placed in an area away from the shower or bathtub, where there is no risk of direct splashing. For installations in wet zones, consult an electrician to verify the appropriate safety conditions.

What type of bulb do I need to purchase for this lamp?

The lamp requires an E27 LED base bulb with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included with the product, so you will need to purchase it separately. Make sure to respect the indicated power limit to avoid affecting the performance or durability of the wall light.
