Is the branch-shaped arm functional or purely decorative?

It serves both functions. It guides the cable along its path, preventing it from being loose or disorderly on the table. At the same time, it is the most distinctive formal element of the STUDIO collection.

Does the 100 V - 240 V voltage mean it works in any country in Europe without an adapter?

Yes. That voltage range covers the electrical standards of most European countries, including Spain. You only need to make sure that the plug type is compatible with the local power outlet.
