Overview

The SAMBA lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for those looking for a light source with its own character. Its green-striped shade and matte white base form a combination that works well both on a bedside table and on a desk or side shelf in the living room. The balanced design between colors means it fits effortlessly into modern spaces or those with vintage touches without being intrusive.

What sets this lamp apart is the clarity with which it defines the atmosphere of a room. It is not just a light source: it adds shape and color to any corner where it is placed. It is a particularly valid option for hospitality projects, where each element of the space must fulfill a visual as well as a practical function.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in interior lighting. The SAMBA collection belongs to Faro Lab, the brand's line oriented toward proposals with a more distinctive identity, without straying from everyday functionality.

Installation and specifications

To use this table lamp you simply need to place it on a stable surface — a bedside table, an auxiliary piece of furniture, or a desk — and plug it into a standard outlet. It requires no fixed installation or tools. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the lamp is unplugged. The base is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, so it works without adapters in different countries. The socket is E27, the most common on the market, making it easy to find a suitable LED bulb.

To clean the matte white steel base, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The green shade requires the same care: a soft cloth with no harsh chemicals. Do not leave the lamp switched on without a bulb installed. If the bulb gets very hot, check that the wattage does not exceed the indicated 15 W.

Design and use

The SAMBA lamp has a height of 485 mm and a square base of 250 x 250 mm. Those proportions make it noticeable without taking up too much space on a bedside table or in a corner of the dining room. The body is steel with a matte white finish, a material that provides stability and durability without adding unnecessary weight. The green-striped shade is the element that gives this light its personality: the color is strong but not aggressive, and the texture of the striping adds a visual detail that is clearly perceptible up close.

In a bedroom, this lamp fits naturally on the bedside table. The light it produces through the shade is diffuse and warm when combined with an LED bulb of the appropriate color temperature, creating a pleasant atmosphere for reading or relaxing before sleep. The green of the shade does not create a harsh contrast with light-colored walls; on the contrary, it complements them well in both neutral tones and more colorful spaces.

In the living room, it can work as supporting light on an auxiliary table or a TV unit. It does not replace a ceiling lamp, but it adds a light point closer to the user, which reduces the feeling of a cold or impersonal space. In a small dining room, a lamp like this on a sideboard or in a visible corner helps to define the atmosphere without the need for renovations.

For a desk in a workspace or study, the SAMBA offers a decorative as well as functional presence. Its height allows the light to reach the work surface with a certain breadth. The design is not distracting, but it is noticeable, which means the space gains in personality.

The green shade also pairs well with natural materials such as light wood, linen, or ceramic elements. In Nordic-style interiors or those with organic references, the contrast between the matte white of the base and the green of the shade works as a clean visual accent. In more eclectic settings, it can coexist with pieces of other styles without everything needing to match rigidly.

In hospitality projects — boutique hotels, vacation apartments, coworking spaces with a rest area — this lamp provides a refined finish that guests or users notice immediately. The combination of materials and colors gives an image of attention to detail without appearing overdone.

The weight of 1.67 kg ensures that the base is stable on any flat surface. It does not move easily and does not feel fragile to the touch. It is a lamp designed to stay where it is placed.

Questions and answers

Can the SAMBA lamp be used with any E27 bulb on the market?

Yes, the E27 socket is standard and compatible with the majority of available bulbs. The maximum accepted wattage is 15 W, so it is advisable to choose an LED bulb that does not exceed that value to ensure correct and safe operation.

Does the 100V–240V voltage range mean I can use it in any country without an adapter?

In most cases, yes. The voltage range covers both countries with a 110V grid and those with 220–240V, so you do not need a transformer. Just make sure to use the appropriate plug connector for the country.

Is the matte white steel base resistant to scratches from daily use?

The matte white finish on the steel is robust for regular indoor use. To keep it in good condition, avoid rubbing the surface with hard objects or abrasive materials. Cleaning with a soft cloth is sufficient to preserve the finish.
