Overview

The OTTO lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for those who spend time reading, studying or working with documents. It works well on a desk, on a bedside table or in any corner where direct, uninterrupted light is needed. The table format makes it easy to place and reposition according to the needs of the moment.

The body has clean lines, free of ornamentation. The lamp fits effortlessly into a modern bedroom, a study or next to a reading table. FARO is a company with a track record in lighting for interior spaces, and in this piece the attention to detail is evident in both the design and the integrated light source.

What sets OTTO apart is the touch switch system with three intensity levels. There are no switches to search for or buttons to force. A simple touch adjusts the light to the time of day or the task at hand.

Installation and specifications

As a table lamp, it requires no fixed installation or tools. It is placed directly on the work surface or chosen table and plugged into the standard 220V–240V electrical supply. Before connecting, check that the cable is not bent or trapped under any object. Make sure the surface it rests on is stable and flat.

To clean the body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents on the ABS or silicone. The PMMA diffuser is cleaned in the same way, without excessive pressure. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or leave it near sources of direct moisture.

Design and use

The OTTO lamp has a compact structure that fits well in small spaces without appearing small. At 420 mm high and 320 mm deep, it takes up just the right amount of space on a desk or side table, leaving enough room for other objects. The articulated arm directs light where it is needed, making it a practical option for reading as well as working with screens or documents.

The body combines ABS and silicone, two materials that provide firmness while also offering some flexibility at the articulation points. This prevents the structure from creaking or losing position with daily use. The matt white finish does not easily accumulate fingerprints and maintains a clean appearance for longer than glossy surfaces. In a modern bedroom or a room with neutral tones, this type of finish blends in without drawing too much attention.

The PMMA opal diffuser distributes light evenly. There are no bright spots or harsh shadows, which is comfortable for the eyes during long reading sessions. The temperature of 4000K corresponds to a neutral white light, neither too warm nor too cold. It works best when concentration is needed, as it does not distort the colours of the text or material being reviewed.

The touch dimmer system allows switching between three intensity levels with a gentle touch. This is useful at night, when you do not want intense light but do not need complete darkness either. On a bedside table, for example, the lowest level is suitable for reading without disturbing another person in the room. At the desk, the highest level provides enough clarity to work without straining the eyes.

The included 6W SMD LED source consumes little power and delivers 550 lumens, an adequate amount to illuminate a work area without being excessive for a rest space. As it is integrated into the lamp, there is no need to worry about finding compatible bulbs. The lamp is ready to use from the very first moment.

In terms of interior integration, the OTTO lamp in matt white pairs well with light wood furniture, lacquered surfaces and neutral textiles. In a room with a modern aesthetic, it works as a secondary light source on a side table or next to a sofa. In a bedroom, it adapts well both to bedside tables and to small reading corners. Its discreet silhouette does not compete with other decorative elements.

Questions and answers

Does the Touch Dimmer system allow light intensity to be adjusted gradually or only between fixed levels?

The system works with three fixed intensity levels. Each touch changes the level, with no intermediate continuous regulation. This allows you to quickly choose between soft, medium or brighter light depending on the moment.

Is the included SMD LED light source replaceable if it stops working?

The lamp includes an integrated 6W SMD LED source. If you have questions about maintenance or replacement of the source, contact our team for specific guidance.

Does the PMMA opal diffuser affect the amount of light that reaches the work surface?

The diffuser distributes light evenly, which reduces direct intensity but eliminates glare. With 550 lumens at 4000K, the light reaching the desk or table is sufficient for reading and working comfortably.
