Overview

The MONTREAL table lamp by FARO is a desk luminaire designed for residential spaces, offices, or hospitality projects. Its steel structure in a matte white finish and its white fabric shade give it a clean, orderly character without drawing too much attention. It works well as a bedside lamp in a bedroom, as a light source in an entryway, or as a complement in a corner of the living room where discreet, focused lighting is needed.

What sets this lamp apart within the MONTREAL collection is the small hook at the top of the structure. This detail, inherited from a classic series, allows the shade to be hung or simply gives character to the piece without adding complexity. It is not an empty decorative element: it responds to a design logic that updates traditional references with a more contemporary perspective.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products are used in both residential projects and work and hospitality spaces, always with attention to finish and functionality.

Installation and specifications

To use this lamp, simply place it on a stable surface — a side table, a desk, or a shelf — and plug it into the mains. No tools or fixed installation are required. Before inserting the bulb, make sure the lamp is unplugged. Use only E27 LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The 100V–240V voltage makes it compatible with the standard electrical grid without the need for adapters.

To clean the metal structure, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. The fabric shade can be gently brushed with a soft-bristle brush to remove accumulated dust. Avoid abrasive products or solvents on either surface. Do not cover the shade with additional materials or place the lamp near direct heat sources.

Design and use

The MONTREAL lamp by FARO stands 540 mm tall with a base diameter of 220 mm — proportions that make it practical without taking up too much space. It is a table lamp that works well in settings where both directed light and a warm atmosphere are desired. The white fabric shade diffuses light softly, without creating harsh glare, making it comfortable for use on a bedside table or next to a sofa in the living room.

The matte white steel body is visually lightweight. It does not accumulate reflections and integrates easily into modern, Nordic, or transitional environments such as an entryway or hallway. The fabric shade adds texture without breaking the overall restraint. This combination of materials — metal and fabric — is one of the features that makes this table lamp versatile across different decorative contexts.

The hook at the top of the structure is a nod to the tradition of classic bedside lamps, where the shade could be adjusted or hung. In the modern version of MONTREAL, this detail serves as an identity element of the collection. It adds character without being excessive, and is one of those small details that give a bedside lamp its own personality.

As a desk lamp or bedside lamp in a bedroom, it provides sufficient light for reading or working in comfortable conditions. In the living room it can serve as a secondary light source on a console or side table, complementing the main lighting. It also works well in office receptions or hotel rooms, where a welcoming atmosphere is sought without resorting to gilded finishes or ceramic materials that give the lamp too much prominence.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs up to 15 W allows the colour temperature to be chosen according to the space. Warm light works well for bedside tables or living room corners. A more neutral light is suitable for a desk or entryway. The MONTREAL collection does not include a bulb, so there is freedom to choose whichever best suits the intended use.

Weighing 1.67 kg, the lamp is stable on the surface without being heavy. No additional fixing is needed. This makes it easy to move from one space to another without complications, which is practical when rearranging furniture or using it in different rooms.

Questions and answers

Does the MONTREAL lamp include an E27 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No. The lamp is delivered without a bulb. You need to purchase separately an E27 LED base bulb with a maximum power of 15 W.

Is it possible to place this table lamp on a bedside table without it being too large?

At 540 mm tall and 220 mm in base diameter, it fits well on standard-sized bedside tables. It does not take up too much surface area and its proportions are well balanced next to the bed.

Does the 100V–240V voltage allow this lamp to be used outside Spain without an adapter?

Yes. This voltage range covers both the European grid and most of the world. You would only need to check the plug type of the destination country to see whether a plug adapter is required.
