Overview

The LULA lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for those looking for something simple, with presence, that fits naturally in different environments. It is part of a collection designed by Marina Milá, made up of two sizes of table lamp. This one is specifically the small version, with a matte white finish and a steel structure combined with textile.

It works well in a living room, on a side table, on a desk, or as a secondary light source in any corner of the home. Its shape is geometric yet soft, without edges that dominate the space. It feels at home in contemporary interiors, though it also fits effortlessly in warmer or Nordic-style settings.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Its collections combine functionality and aesthetic sensibility, designed for both domestic use and interior design projects.

Installation and specifications

No tools or anchors are needed to install this lamp. As a table lamp, it is simply placed on the desired surface: a side table, a desk, a console, or any stable piece of furniture. Make sure the surface is flat and can support a weight of approximately 1.8 kg without any issues. The cable plugs into a standard socket. Before doing so, the appropriate E27 LED bulb must be fitted, as it is not included in the box.

To clean the textile shade, it is recommended to use a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents. The steel structure can be cleaned with a soft cloth. The base and cable should not be wetted. When changing the bulb, first disconnect the lamp from the power supply and wait for the previous bulb to cool down completely.

Design and use

The LULA collection was created with the intention of offering a table lamp that does not draw attention in a strident way, but rather accompanies the space. The shapes are austere, without ornamentation, with balanced proportions. The textile shade softens the light and gives it a warm appearance without losing the sobriety of the whole.

The steel body provides solidity. This is not a lightweight lamp that moves easily, but a stable piece that stays in place. The matte white finish does not reflect light, which helps prevent the side table or furniture on which it is placed from looking visually cluttered.

In a living room, this lamp works well on a side table or on a low shelf. It does not replace the main lighting, but it adds a closer and more directed layer of light, useful for reading, for creating atmosphere, or for not always depending on ceiling light. In a dining room, it can be placed on a sideboard or in a corner where a discreet focal point is desired.

In the bedroom, it fits perfectly on a bedside table. Its compact dimensions, 270 mm high and 160 mm wide, do not take up too much surface space. It sits at a comfortable height for reading without the light disturbing someone sleeping beside you. The textile shade diffuses the beam of light and prevents direct glare.

It can also work on a desk when the task does not require very intense lighting. For precision work it may fall short, but for having support light at night it is more than sufficient. It accepts E27 LED bulbs of up to 15 W, which allows the level of brightness to be adjusted by choosing the appropriate bulb.

Within the LULA collection there are other sizes and colors. This makes it possible to combine two lamps of the same design in different spots within the same space, maintaining coherence without falling into exact repetition. One version on the bedside table and another on the desk, for example, give the bedroom a sense of order without feeling forced.

The combination of materials, steel and textile, is common in contemporary design pieces. The metal structures and adds visual weight. The fabric attenuates and humanizes. In a room where hard surfaces such as wood, ceramic, or metal predominate, a lamp with a textile shade introduces a different texture that balances the whole.

The LED bulb, not included, opens up the possibility of choosing the color temperature that best suits the use. A warm light around 2700K creates an intimate atmosphere for the evening, while a neutral light of 4000K is more functional for working or reading during the day.

No construction work or wall drilling is needed. It is plugged in, placed, and immediately ready to use. That ease of use is part of what makes a table lamp a practical solution even when the rest of the home's lighting is already installed.

Questions and answers

Does the LULA lamp require a specific bulb or will any E27 work?

It accepts any bulb with an E27 base of up to 15 W. The most common is a standard E27 LED, which can easily be found in any lighting store or hardware shop. Please note that the bulb is not included in the box.

Is the textile shade washable or is it delicate?

It is not recommended to wet it or rub it forcefully. To keep it in good condition, simply wipe it with a dry cloth from time to time. For more stubborn dirt, a very slightly damp cloth can be used without applying pressure.

Does this lamp work with 220V voltage installations?

Yes. The compatible voltage range goes from 100V to 240V, so it works without adapters on the standard electrical grid in Spain and the rest of Europe.
