Overview

HOSHI is a table lamp created by xJeR Studio for FARO, designed for those looking for more than functional lighting. It fits well on a bedside table, a desk, or a console in the living room. The sleek body and solid base keep the lamp stable without taking up too much space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting design. Their products combine functionality with a refined aesthetic, and HOSHI is a good example of that: an object that fulfills its purpose without needing to draw too much attention.

What sets this lamp apart is the integrated dimmer on the base. There is no need to look for an additional switch or install an external dimmer. The LED light source is included, so it arrives ready to use from the very first moment.

Installation and specifications

As a table lamp, installation is straightforward: place it on the chosen surface and connect it to the power supply using the included cable. No tools or anchors are required. Before turning it on, check that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated range (100 V – 240 V). The dimmer is on the base and operates directly from there.

To clean the steel body in a satin gold finish, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The opal PC diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or leave it plugged in while cleaning.

Design and use

The HOSHI lamp has a clean, vertical profile that integrates well in spaces with different styles. The satin gold finish adds warmth without feeling overdone. It is not a glossy finish that draws too much attention, but rather a softer one that adapts to both modern interiors and environments with more classic elements.

The body is made of steel, which gives it solidity and durability. The base is wide and stable, something you notice when it is placed on a bedside table or on a desk: it does not wobble and does not move easily. That stability is important, especially if the lamp is going to be in a frequently used spot.

The opal diffuser distributes light evenly, without bright spots and without harsh shadows. The 2700 K colour temperature produces a warm light, similar to traditional incandescent light. It is a tone that feels pleasant at night, when you want a calm atmosphere in the bedroom or living room.

The dimmer on the base allows you to adjust the intensity depending on the moment. At night, simply lower it to have soft ambient light. During the day, if used as a work light on a desk, the intensity can be increased. That flexibility is useful without needing to install anything extra.

The lamp fits well on a bedside table: it has a height of 400 mm, which allows the light to reach the right level without being too low or too high. In the dining room, it can work as an auxiliary light source on a console or sideboard. In the living room, it combines well with natural wood furniture, lacquered surfaces, or metallic elements. The satin gold finish connects well with handles, frames, or decorative accessories in the same tone.

If the space has a more modern or Nordic style, the clean geometry of HOSHI does not look out of place. Nor does it in warmer environments or those with vintage touches, where the satin gold feels more at home. The white opal shade softens the contrast with the metallic body and gives coherence to the overall piece.

The integrated LED source means there is no need to search for a compatible bulb. With 12 W of consumption, energy use is low. The light it produces is sufficient to illuminate a specific area without overwhelming the space.

Although the name HOSHI does not refer to any port or connection, the luminaire integrates effortlessly at any point in the room where there is a power outlet. It does not depend on batteries or wireless connection, which simplifies its long-term use.

For those renovating or updating their home, this type of lamp solves the lighting needs of bedside or desk areas in a practical and visually refined way.
