Overview

The GABO wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those seeking functional lighting without sacrificing a clean, neat finish. Its compact design makes it useful in spaces where light needs to be directed precisely: next to the bed, in a narrow hallway, or in a reading area. The lamp incorporates integrated LED technology and a USB input, making it a practical solution for charging devices without the need for additional outlets.

The GABO wall light can be installed surface-mounted or recessed into the wall, providing flexibility when planning the installation. Its matte black finish integrates easily into interiors with modern lines. FARO is a brand with a long track record in interior and exterior lighting, recognized for combining careful design with quality materials.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a wall recessed box or a suitable flat surface is required, depending on the chosen option. It is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before starting assembly, make sure to cut the power at the main panel. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall and does not require any additional structure.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte black finish. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected.

Design and use

The GABO wall light has a structure that combines steel and aluminium, two materials that provide solidity without adding excessive weight. At under half a kilogram, it is easy to handle during installation and does not place any load on the wall. The matte black finish gives it a restrained, uniform appearance, with no reflections or glare to distract. It is the kind of lamp that blends into its surroundings without drawing too much attention, yet delivers exactly what is expected of it.

The wall light's design includes a frame with a central cradle-shaped frieze that surrounds and houses the reader. This form is not purely aesthetic: it helps to direct the light and keep the overall look visually tidy. The lamp is presented as a compact piece, with dimensions of 185 mm in height, 80 mm in length, and 69 mm in depth. It fits well in small spaces without taking up more room than necessary.

The colour temperature of 2700K produces a warm light, close to that of a traditional bulb. This type of lighting is pleasant for rest areas, reading, or transitional spaces. In a bedroom, for example, it provides sufficient light next to the bed without being harsh at the end of the day. In a hallway, it adds clarity without overwhelming the space.

The GABO wall light can be installed surface-mounted or recessed. This dual option makes it compatible with different situations: both in a full renovation where the wall can be prepared, and in an installation on an existing surface. The recessed version leaves the wall cleaner, with the light integrated flush with the plane. The surface-mounted version is more accessible if you do not want to alter the wall.

The built-in USB input is one of the most practical features of this wall light. In the bedroom, it allows you to charge a phone or tablet without the need for additional outlets near the bed. It is a detail that proves especially useful when power points are scarce or poorly positioned. This function also makes sense in a hallway with an entrance area, where you can leave your phone charging when you arrive home.

The lamp operates with an integrated high-power LED, with a power output of 4W. The lighting is efficient and does not require bulb replacement. The working voltage is standard for domestic use in Europe, between 220V and 240V.

In terms of style, the GABO fits well in modern interiors or those with clean lines. Matte black is a finish that pairs with light, grey, or neutral-toned walls. It can also be integrated into spaces with dark furniture without looking out of place. It works as a reading wall light in the bedroom, as spot lighting in a hallway, on a staircase, or in the bathroom, provided the conditions of the space allow for it.
