Overview

The FARO ceiling recessed light is a lamp designed for those looking for clean and discreet lighting, without the light source drawing more attention than the space itself. It integrates into the ceiling flush, leaving the surface almost intact. Its matte black aluminum body gives it a solid and neat appearance, compatible with modern design interiors as well as more neutral approaches.

This lamp is adjustable, allowing you to direct the light beam exactly where needed. This makes it useful both for illuminating a work area and for highlighting a decorative element. It works with a GU10 LED bulb, although the light source is not included and must be purchased separately.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in the lighting industry. Its home catalog combines functionality and style without resorting to complicated solutions. The recessed light in this line reflects that way of working: quality materials, careful finishes, and a modern design that does not age quickly.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the opening in the ceiling has the appropriate dimensions to accommodate the recessed body. Since it is adjustable, make sure there is enough space to move the spotlight without grazing the ceiling. Always work with the power off. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to have an electrician do it. This lamp does not include a transformer or lamp holder, so you will need to prepare all the necessary components before assembly.

To clean the aluminum body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or corrosive liquids, as they can damage the matte black finish. Do not touch the bulb with unprotected hands when it is in operation, as the heat can cause burns. If you are going to change the light source, wait until the lamp has been off for some time.

Design and use

The FARO ceiling recessed light has a body made of aluminum with a matte black finish. It is a material that balances lightness and strength, and that maintains its appearance well over time. The profile is compact: just 25 mm high and 92 mm on each side, which allows installation even in ceilings with little space for the junction box.

The orientation of the spotlight is one of the most practical aspects of this lamp. It does not remain fixed pointing at the floor, but can rotate to direct the light where it is most needed. This makes it a flexible solution for different situations: illuminating a countertop in the kitchen, accompanying the table in the dining room, marking the headboard in the bedroom, or highlighting a shelf in the living room. With several lights of the same model, it is possible to create lighting schemes that respond to different needs within the same space.

In the kitchen, this type of ceiling lamp fits well both over work areas and in passageways. Being able to orient the beam, it adapts to the layout of the space without having to move the light point. In the dining room, a row of recessed lights above the table can replace a pendant lamp and leave the ceiling clear. In the bedroom, it allows concentrating the light in a specific area without flooding the entire space with a ceiling light providing uniform distribution. In small bedrooms, where every centimeter matters, the discretion of the recessed light is especially useful.

The modern design of this ceiling light makes it compatible with minimalist, Nordic, or industrial interiors. The matte black does not stand out excessively, but it does not go unnoticed either: it provides a clean contrast on white or gray ceilings. Combined with other metallic elements in the same tone, it reinforces the visual coherence of the space. It also adapts well to projects where materials such as wood, concrete, or exposed brick are mixed.

Although the term exterior might suggest otherwise, this recessed light is designed for indoor use. However, if an industrial or contemporary style look is sought in areas such as covered porches or well-protected garages, its matte black finish may prove equally suitable. Always verify that the conditions of the location are compatible with the product specifications.

Recessed lights in general allow the creation of lighting layouts with a cleaner result than that of a bar or a conventional ceiling light. By not hanging from the ceiling, they do not occupy visual space and facilitate the perception of height in the room. This FARO model, given its dimensions and finish, is an option that fits into renovation projects where modern lighting is sought without sacrificing functionality.

Questions and answers

Does the recessed light include the GU10 bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is not included. You will need to purchase a GU10 LED bulb separately, as well as the lamp holder and transformer if your installation requires it.

What dimensions does the opening in the ceiling need to be to install this recessed light?

The lamp body measures 92 x 92 mm in plan and 25 mm in height. Consult the manufacturer's instructions to find out the exact diameter of the cut required in the ceiling before proceeding with the installation.

Can the spotlight be rotated after installation to change the direction of the light?

Yes, this recessed light is adjustable. Once installed in the ceiling, the spotlight can be moved to direct the light beam toward different areas of the space without needing to modify the installation.
