Overview

LOX is a ceiling recessed light from FARO Barcelona, designed for those looking for a clean and functional lighting solution. Its circular body made of aluminum and PC in a black finish fits well in spaces that require focused light without the lamp taking up too much visual space. Thanks to its compact size — 85 mm in diameter — it goes unnoticed when not lit, and fulfills its function without drawing attention to itself when it is.

The modern design of this ceiling recessed light makes it compatible with commercial environments, although it also works in the kitchen, dining room, or any area of the home where discreet, targeted lighting is desired. The lamp includes an integrated COB LED light source at 2700K, which means warm light, no flickering, and low energy consumption. There is no need to purchase a bulb separately.

FARO Barcelona has been designing luminaires for the Spanish and international market for decades. Their products combine quality materials with a restrained style — no unnecessary ornaments, no passing trends. LOX is a good example of this approach: simple form, concrete result.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a circular cutout must be made in the false ceiling with the diameter indicated in the specifications. The lamp is fixed directly into the opening using the included spring or clip system, with no visible screws required. Before connecting the wiring, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. Since the working voltage is 36 V, a compatible transformer or driver may be required — consult an electrician if you have any doubts about the installation.

The aluminum surface of the body can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The light source is integrated and is not user-replaceable: in the event of failure, contact customer service.

Design and use

LOX is a ceiling recessed light with a very low profile: just 70 mm in height and 85 mm in diameter. When installed flush with the ceiling, it virtually disappears into the surface. This makes it an interesting option for spaces where the lamp should not compete with the rest of the decorative elements — whether a central ceiling light, a painting, or a piece of furniture.

The body is made of aluminum and PC. The aluminum provides solidity and dissipates the heat generated by the LED effectively. The PC protects the interior optics without adding weight. The overall assembly is lightweight — only 0.02 kg — which makes installation easy even on plasterboard ceilings or lightweight materials.

The black finish adds to the modern design that characterizes this lamp. On a white ceiling, the dark circle makes an intentional statement. On a dark or exposed concrete ceiling, it blends into the whole. In an industrial or Nordic-style kitchen, this type of recessed light fits effortlessly among the furniture modules and metal finishes.

The light it emits is warm — 2700K — which is pleasant in a bedroom, dining room, or any rest area. In a bedroom, several units of this lamp distributed across the ceiling provide uniform lighting without the bulky presence of a central ceiling light. In a dining room, they can be directed over the table to create a focused light without harsh shadows.

Modern recessed lights have grown in popularity because they allow the ceiling to be used as a clean surface. No visible cables, no exposed hardware. Just the black circle flush with the ceiling, and light when needed. That is exactly what LOX offers.

In commercial environments — boutiques, studios, receptions, display areas — this type of lamp is common because it allows light to be directed with precision. It is also useful at home in hallways, kitchens, or over a counter, where a specific area needs to be illuminated without installing a larger fixture.

For those looking for modern lights with a clean design and quality materials, LOX represents a concrete option within the FARO Barcelona home catalog. The ceiling lights and recessed fixtures from this brand follow a consistent line: refined shapes, honest materials, no artifice. The result is a discreet presence that enhances the space without imposing itself. Installed in series over a kitchen counter or in a long hallway, several of these recessed lights create an orderly visual sequence, characteristic of the most carefully considered modern interiors.

Questions and answers

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is already integrated into the lamp. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb to use the LOX recessed light.

Does the LOX recessed light work directly with standard household mains voltage?

Not directly. The working voltage is 36 V, so a compatible driver or transformer may be required. It is recommended to consult an electrician before installation to ensure that the existing installation is suitable.

What cutout diameter is needed in the ceiling to install the LOX?

The total diameter of the lamp is 85 mm. The hole in the ceiling must match that measurement so that the recessed light is properly secured and flush with the surface.
