Installation and specifications

To install this recessed lamp, it is necessary to make a hole in the ceiling with the diameter indicated in the specifications. Before starting any electrical work, always disconnect the power at the main panel. If the ceiling has little available depth, the low recessing depth of this model is especially useful. To take advantage of the dimming function, the dimmable driver must be connected to a compatible control system. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician.

To clean the aluminium body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. The honeycomb filter is removable, which makes cleaning easier without needing to remove the entire lamp from the ceiling. Do not touch the light source with bare hands. Periodically check that the orientation adjustment remains firm.

Design and use

The KIVI body is made of aluminium with a matte black finish. It is a material that withstands temperature changes and humidity well, which is relevant if the lamp is going to be in a kitchen or bathroom. The total weight is just 140 grams, which simplifies installation even in ceilings with a lightweight structure.

The diffuser is made of transparent PC, a technical plastic that is impact-resistant and has good optical stability. What makes this lamp special is the integrated honeycomb filter. Questions and answers

Is the KIVI dimmable driver compatible with any dimmer on the market?

The included dimmable driver allows the intensity to be adjusted, but compatibility depends on the type of dimmer. It is recommended to use dimmers designed for low-power LED loads. Consult your installer or FARO's technical service if you have any doubts about compatibility with your system.

Is the honeycomb filter necessary for the lamp to work, or is it optional?

The lamp works with or without the filter. However, the honeycomb filter reduces direct glare and improves visual comfort, especially when the lamp points towards areas where people are present. Being removable, you can take it off to clean it or to adjust the angle of the light.

Does IP44 protection allow KIVI to be installed directly above the shower?

IP44 protection guarantees resistance to water splashes from any direction, but it is not sufficient for installations directly exposed to the shower spray. In areas close to the shower or bathtub, consult the current electrical regulations on protection zones before proceeding with installation.
