Overview

The FARO square recessed luminaire is a ceiling lamp designed to integrate into the space without drawing attention to itself. Its clean lines and matte white finish mean it works well in any type of environment: kitchen, bedroom, hallway, dining room or living room. The modern yet understated design allows it to coexist without conflict with other decorative elements.

FARO is a brand with years of experience in home lighting. Its products combine functionality and style without complicating installation or daily use. This recessed lamp is a good example of that approach: no unnecessary ornamentation, with just what is needed to provide good light and last.

What this lamp solves is simple: directed lighting from the ceiling, with no visible cables or structures. By being recessed, the space gains visual clarity. And being adjustable, you can set the angle of the spotlight as needed — towards a painting, a work area or the centre of the room.

Installation and specifications

For installation it is necessary to make a hole in the ceiling with the appropriate dimensions for the lamp body. Before starting, cut the power at the electrical panel. The connection requires access to a light point in the ceiling, so if you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to use an electrician. The GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. Make sure the chosen bulb does not exceed 8 W of power.

The steel surface with a matte white finish is easy to clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive or excessively damp products, as they can affect the finish. This lamp has an IP20 rating, meaning it is protected against solid objects but not against moisture. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. Install it only in dry indoor spaces.

Design and use

The FARO square recessed luminaire has a steel body measuring 89 x 89 mm and 55 mm in height. These are compact dimensions that allow it to be installed in ceilings with little available depth, which is common in apartments or in areas where the false ceiling leaves little space. The weight of 0.13 kg means it places no structural strain on the surface.

The matte white finish is one of the details that most influences how this lamp looks once installed. It does not shine, it does not reflect light aggressively and it does not visibly accumulate fingerprints. On a white ceiling, it is practically integrated. On a ceiling of a different colour or texture, it acts as a small modern design element without excessive prominence.

The adjustable orientation is a feature that makes a difference compared to fixed lights. In a kitchen, you can direct the beam towards the worktop. In a dining room, towards the centre of the table. In a bedroom or several bedrooms, towards the reading area or the headboard. This flexibility avoids installing additional light points in many cases, because with a single adjustable spotlight you can cover different needs depending on the moment.

The GU10 socket is standard and compatible with a wide variety of LED bulbs on the market. Being LED, power consumption is low and service life is long. The maximum admitted power is 8 W, sufficient to efficiently illuminate a specific area without generating excessive heat. The voltage range between 100V and 240V ensures the lamp works correctly in electrical installations from different countries or standards.

In terms of style, this luminaire fits well with contemporary interiors. In a kitchen with neutral-coloured furniture, it reinforces the sense of order. In a modern dining room, it provides clean, direct light without decorative elements that distract. In bedrooms with minimalist or Nordic aesthetics, the square shape and white finish fit naturally. It also works well in combination with other luminaires of the same model when installed in a group, creating a uniform distribution across the ceiling.

It is not a lamp for outdoor use or suitable for damp areas, as its IP20 rating already indicates. For dry indoor spaces, however, it offers a reliable, clean and easy-to-maintain solution. Its design does not become outdated with trends because it is based on a modern and neutral foundation that does not depend on specific fashions.

Questions and answers

Is the luminaire suitable for installation in the bathroom?

No. This lamp has an IP20 rating, which offers no protection against moisture. It should only be installed in dry indoor spaces, such as bedrooms, hallways, kitchens or dining rooms.

How many degrees can the spotlight be oriented?

The lamp body is adjustable, allowing the direction of the light beam to be set according to need. To find out the exact available orientation angle, consult the full technical datasheet from the manufacturer FARO or the manual included in the packaging.

Does the GU10 socket accept any LED bulb on the market?

Yes, the GU10 socket is compatible with most standard LED bulbs available in stores. It is only important that the bulb does not exceed the maximum power of 8 W admitted by this luminaire.
