Overview

The FARO round recessed lamp is a solution designed for those seeking clean and orderly lighting in projects where detail matters. It is installed in the ceiling without occupying visual space, making it suitable for commercial premises, hospitality areas and home spaces where a refined result is desired without complicating the environment. The circular design in die-cast aluminium gives it a discreet presence, and the matte white finish fits well in both modern interiors and spaces with a more neutral style.

FARO is a brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products are designed to last and to integrate well into real projects, not just renders. This lamp in particular is part of their recessed lighting line, where functionality takes priority without sacrificing design.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the opening in the ceiling has the appropriate dimensions for the 90 mm diameter. Cut the circle carefully so that the fit is clean. Make sure the electrical installation complies with local regulations and, if you have no experience with electrical work, consult a professional. The GU10 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately before operating the equipment.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. Always turn off the lamp and wait for it to cool before cleaning it or handling the bulb.

Design and use

Die-cast aluminium is a material that combines lightness and strength. In this FARO recessed downlight, that choice is no coincidence: the body maintains its shape over time, does not deform with heat and holds up well in environments where the lamp operates for many hours at a stretch. The matte white finish does not reflect light aggressively, which contributes to a more pleasant and uniform atmosphere.

The 90 mm diameter is a standard format that makes installation straightforward in new builds as well as when replacing existing recessed lights. No special adapters or ceiling modifications are required. The body has a height of 145 mm, which should be taken into account when calculating the available space in the false ceiling.

In hospitality projects, these lights fit well in corridors, reception areas or rest zones. The ceiling remains clear, free of distracting elements, and the lighting is distributed in an orderly manner. In commercial premises, the clean and modern style of this recessed fitting allows well-defined atmospheres to be created without overloading the space. A downlight of this type also works in shared areas of apartments or in home spaces where a coherent visual line is desired.

In the kitchen, ceiling recessed lights are a common solution for illuminating worktops and work areas without creating shadows. This lamp, with its modern design and neutral finish, does not clash with any decorative style, making it compatible with contemporary kitchens of different finishes. In the dining room, combined with other lights, it can be used to create different levels of lighting depending on the time of day.

In bedrooms, a row of well-distributed downlights provides clean general lighting that can be complemented with more localised lights near the bed. In larger bedrooms, the use of several recessed lights avoids dependence on a single central light point, which gives greater flexibility. The modern style of the product adapts to both minimalist rooms and spaces with more decorative elements.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs is a practical advantage. This type of light source is easy to find, available in different colour temperatures and has low energy consumption. The operating voltage between 100V and 240V makes it suitable for installations in different countries without the need for adapters. From a design perspective, the downlight does not incorporate eye-catching decorative elements, making it a discreet background that lets the rest of the space take centre stage. Modern lights of this type work well in projects that seek a clean and orderly result.

If lights are needed for a bar counter or for an open kitchen bar area, this recessed fitting is a suitable option. The bar is a point where focused lighting improves both functionality and the perception of the space. These lamps, arranged in a line on the ceiling, create a result that looks good both in daily use and in more refined settings. For covered outdoor lighting, such as roofed porches or protected areas, it is advisable to verify whether the product is appropriate for the conditions of the space before installing it in such environments.

Questions and answers

What diameter opening do I need to prepare in the ceiling to install this recessed lamp?

The total diameter of the recessed fitting is 90 mm. The opening in the false ceiling must match that measurement so that the body fits securely and the finish looks clean.

Is it possible to use this downlight with GU10 bulbs that are not LED?

The lamp holder is GU10 with a maximum power of 8W. Although the socket is compatible with different types of GU10 bulb, it is recommended to use LED to respect the stated power limit and make better use of the equipment's performance.

Does the die-cast aluminium body affect the total weight and ease of installation?

The net weight of the recessed fitting is 0.25 kg, making it very manageable during assembly. The die-cast aluminium provides solidity without adding unnecessary weight, which makes working at height easier during ceiling installation.
