Overview

FLIC is a ceiling recessed light by FARO designed for those who want clean, well-integrated lighting in their space. Its compact size and double trimless design mean that, once installed, the fixture sits completely flush with the ceiling, with no visible edges or frames breaking the continuity of the finish. It is a solution that works well both in renovation projects and in already-finished spaces where a neat, distraction-free aesthetic is desired.

Adjustable orientation is one of the most practical features of this light. It allows you to direct the beam of light exactly where it is needed, which is useful when you want to highlight a painting, illuminate a work area, or simply adjust the direction of the light according to how the space is organized. The body is made of aluminum in a black finish, giving it a discreet presence while remaining compatible with a wide range of decorating styles.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Their products combine technical criteria with attention to design detail, and are intended for everyday home use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this light, check that the ceiling has adequate thickness and strength for recessed fixtures. The opening hole must match the 55 mm diameter specified by the manufacturer. It is important that the wiring is correctly rated for the installation voltage, which can range from 100 V to 277 V. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended, especially if you have no prior experience with recessed ceiling lights.

To clean the aluminum body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. Do not clean the light while the installation is switched on or when the body is hot. Periodically check that the orientation adjustment remains firm, especially if the direction of the beam is changed frequently.

Design and use

The FLIC recessed light by FARO is designed for those looking for a ceiling light that does not interrupt the visual line of the space. The double trimless concept eliminates the rings or frames typically found in conventional recessed lights, resulting in an almost invisible integration into the ceiling. This is especially useful in interiors where the ceiling finish is an important element of modern design, such as in living rooms, bedrooms, or workspaces with smooth, continuous finishes.

The aluminum body is lightweight, at just 0.11 kg net weight, making installation easy and imposing no significant structural load. The black finish gives it a neutral aesthetic that fits both industrial-style interiors and more minimalist environments. It is a light that does not draw attention to itself, but instead integrates and lets the space speak for itself. In this sense, it works well as part of a line of recessed lights distributed along the ceiling, forming neat compositions without additional decorative elements.

The adjustable head orientation is a feature that adds real versatility. In a kitchen, for example, it can be used to direct light directly onto the countertop or food preparation area, where precise lighting improves the user experience. In a dining room, it can be angled toward the table to create a more defined atmosphere. This adjustability makes the light more than just a general lighting element: it can be used as a spot within a broader lighting scheme.

In bedrooms and double bedrooms, it is common to place adjustable recessed lights on either side of the bed, pointing toward the reading area. The discreet home design of this light fits well in environments where calm and visual order are desired. Being fully recessed into the ceiling, it takes up no visual space and does not interfere with other elements such as paintings, shelves, or headboards.

Compatibility with GU10 LED bulbs opens a wide range of options in terms of color temperature and intensity, although the bulb is not included. This allows the user to choose the most suitable light for the atmosphere they want to create in each room. The 100V–277V voltage range makes the light compatible with electrical installations in different countries and standards.

In spaces such as hallways, lobbies, or transit areas, a row of recessed lights like FLIC arranged in a line can resolve lighting in a clean and orderly way, without the need for hanging elements or surface-mounted fittings that reduce visual headroom. In interiors with low ceilings, this solution is especially suitable because it preserves full ceiling height. It can also be integrated into more technical spaces, such as home offices or small offices, where modern, discreet lights contribute to a focused atmosphere free from distractions.

The black aluminum finish holds up well to everyday use. It is not a delicate material, and maintenance is straightforward. Fixtures of this type typically last many years without changes to the finish if properly cared for. Alongside other fixtures from the same line or compatible lines, FLIC can form part of a larger installation with visual coherence. Its small size also makes it suitable for niches or recessed ceiling areas where other models would not fit.

Questions and answers

What opening diameter do I need to cut in the ceiling to install this recessed light?
