Overview

The FLAC recessed light from FARO is a compact, adjustable ceiling lamp designed for spaces where size matters and precision does too. With a body of just 66 mm in diameter and 100 mm in height, this lamp fits easily in hallways, entryways, and any transitional area where a larger luminaire would be excessive. Its adjustable head allows you to direct the light beam exactly where needed, without depending on the fixed position of the installation point.

The white design, with an aluminum body, allows the lamp to blend into the ceiling without drawing attention. It takes up no visual space, does not interrupt the ceiling plane, and simply does its job. For those reorganizing the lighting in their home, this type of solution is especially useful in areas that tend to remain in shadow.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products are found in residential and commercial projects, combining functionality with a modern and understated style.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this ceiling lamp, make sure the opening in the false ceiling or mounting surface has the appropriate diameter to accommodate the 66 mm body. It is recommended to cut the opening to the exact measurement so that the ring sits properly. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if it involves working with existing wiring. Verify that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated range of 100V to 277V before connecting. The GU10 LED bulb is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the white aluminum finish. Always disconnect the power before handling the lamp or changing the bulb.

Design and use

The FLAC recessed light is one of those lights that take up the minimum possible space without sacrificing functionality. Its white aluminum body measures 66 mm in diameter, making it a valid option even for ceilings with little thickness or structures where space for the mechanism is limited. When installed flush with the ceiling, it generates no shadows of its own and creates no unnecessary visual volume.

The adjustability of the head is one of the most useful features of this lamp. In a hallway, for example, it allows you to aim the light toward the floor or to one side without needing to move the anchor point. This gives real flexibility to the lighting design, something that is especially appreciated when working with narrow or elongated spaces. In a kitchen, that same adjustment allows you to concentrate the light on the countertop or on a specific point in the work area.

In the dining room, the FLAC recessed light can be combined with other modern lights to create a balanced distribution. It does not replace a main lamp of greater power, but it complements a larger installation very well, providing precise light points where general ceiling lights do not reach. This combined use is common in interior renovation projects where layered lighting is sought.

In the bedroom, its discreet profile and white finish fit with almost any decorative style, from the most minimalist to the most classic. By not projecting outward from the head, it concentrates the light beam and avoids direct glare. For bedrooms with reading areas or bed headboards, this lamp can be precisely aimed at the exact point where light is needed. In small bedrooms, the recessed format is especially useful because it does not reduce visual height or take up space in the ceiling plane.

The modern and compact design of the FLAC also makes it suitable for installations in kitchen bar areas, hallway linear arrangements, or even small bathrooms or dressing rooms, provided that electrical conditions allow it. The GU10 LED light source allows working with low-consumption bulbs and good color rendering, which is important in spaces where color and environmental details matter.

The white aluminum body is a lightweight and durable material that does not deform under the heat generated by the bulb. The total weight of the recessed light is just 90 grams, which simplifies installation even in plasterboard ceilings or less dense materials. Ceiling lights of this type, not depending on a hanging system or additional structure, are easier to fix than a conventional pendant lamp.

If you are renovating the lighting in your home and are looking for a clean, adjustable, and modern-style solution for transitional areas or small spaces, the FLAC offers exactly that: minimal presence, precise results. It is one of those modern lights that work well both in new construction projects and in specific renovations where you want to improve light distribution without major interventions.

Questions and answers

Is the FLAC recessed light compatible with any GU10 bulb or only with LED?

The lamp is designed for a Mini GU10 LED light source. The maximum admitted power is 3 W, so you must make sure to use a bulb within that range. It is not recommended to install conventional halogen bulbs that exceed that power.

How much space is needed in the ceiling to install this recessed light?

The recessed light body has a diameter of 66 mm and a height of 100 mm. That is the minimum space that must be available inside the ceiling to properly accommodate the mechanism. It is recommended to verify the plenum depth before making the opening cut.

Is there a rotation limit for the head adjustment?

The FLAC head is adjustable, allowing you to redirect the light beam without moving the installation point in the ceiling. The orientation angle depends on the internal mechanism of the model; to find out the exact range, consult the full technical sheet included in the product packaging.
