Overview

The FARO DOP is a round recessed light designed to be installed in the ceiling of indoor spaces. Its aluminum structure with a white finish and opal PC diffuser makes it a discreet lamp that blends in without drawing attention, whether in a quiet bedroom or a well-lit kitchen.

The SMD LED light source is already included and emits a color temperature of 3000K, producing a warm tone similar to that of a classic bulb. There is no need to search for a compatible lamp type or do any calculations. Install it, and it works.

FARO is a brand with years of experience in home lighting. Their products combine functional design with quality materials, built to last and to adapt to different interior styles.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp, an opening must be cut in the ceiling with the appropriate dimensions for the model. As a recessed fitting, it requires sufficient space above the false ceiling to house the body of the luminaire and access the wiring. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before connecting, ensure that the home's electrical installation is compatible with a voltage of 220V-240V.

To clean the lamp, simply use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the aluminum body and the diffuser. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. Always switch off the luminaire before cleaning it and wait for it to cool down. Do not handle the light source while the unit is connected to the electrical supply.

Design and use

The DOP is a ceiling recessed light with a clean line and circular format. The body, made of aluminum with a matte white finish, fits well into smooth ceilings without adding visual volume. There are no hanging cables, no protruding elements. The lamp sits flush with the ceiling plane, which makes the space look more orderly.

The PC diffuser with an opal finish distributes light evenly. There are no concentrated bright spots or sharp shadows in the corners. The 3000K lighting delivers a warm tone that is pleasant in the dining room, bedroom, or kitchen alike. It is a color temperature that does not strain the eyes and makes natural materials — wood, stone, ceramic — look good without color distortion.

In a kitchen, this type of lamp works well above the work area or distributed across several points on the ceiling. Recessed lights allow illumination without taking up space, which is useful when the ceiling is low or when you do not want to add elements that interrupt the visual line. In a dining room, it can be combined with a central pendant lamp to add layers of light. The DOP recessed light would act as supporting or ambient light, leaving the visual focus to the main piece.

In bedrooms, recessed lighting is a comfortable option. It does not collect dust like a surface-mounted lamp, it does not take up space on the bedside table or on the ceiling, and it provides uniform light without annoying glare. In bedrooms with a more neutral or modern design, the white finish of the DOP goes completely unnoticed, which is exactly what is sought in those spaces.

The round format and white finish allow this luminaire to adapt to different styles. It works equally well in a Nordic-style interior as in a more contemporary one. The design does not impose a specific aesthetic, and that makes it versatile. In small apartments where visual space matters, a recessed fitting like this helps keep the ceiling free of elements that clutter it.

The 33W power and the included SMD LED source make it a complete option from the very first moment. There is no need to estimate whether the power is sufficient or to search for a compatible bulb. What arrives in the box is what gets installed.

For those renovating their home and looking for modern lights without much complication, the DOP offers a modern yet discreet design. It is the type of luminaire that needs no justification in the space: it simply fulfills its function and lets the rest of the interior speak for itself. The home concept that FARO represents bets precisely on that: lighting that accompanies without excessive prominence.

Regarding the installation bar and mounting accessories, it is important to consult the full technical datasheet for the model to confirm the exact dimensions of the cutout required in the ceiling. An incorrectly sized bar can complicate the installation.

Questions and answers

Is the LED light source included with the DOP recessed light, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is already included. There is no need to purchase any additional bulb to use the lamp from the very first moment.

Does the opal diffuser significantly affect the amount of light that reaches the space?

The opal diffuser distributes light evenly and eliminates direct glare. There is a slight reduction in perceived intensity, but the result is a more comfortable and uniform illumination throughout the room.

Is the aluminum body with white finish resistant to knocks or scratches during installation?

Aluminum is a robust material, but the white finish can be marked if handled with unprotected tools. Care is recommended when inserting the body into the ceiling opening and direct contact of the finish with metal edges during assembly should be avoided.
