Overview

The WHIZZ pendant lamp by FARO is a suspension luminaire designed for interior spaces where style matters as much as function. This three-light version combines satin gold with black in a piece that finds its place naturally in the living room, dining room, or any central area of the home.

Designer Christoph Friedrich Wagner developed the WHIZZ family with finishes in mind that follow current trends without losing solidity. The steel body, multiple canopy, and three light points make this oval lamp a concrete option for those looking for a suspension luminaire with a clear visual presence.

FARO is a company with a long history in interior and exterior lighting. Its products reach homes throughout Europe, and the WHIZZ family is part of its design catalogue oriented towards the domestic environment.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp, it must be fixed to the ceiling using the included multiple canopy. Before starting the installation, cut the power supply from the main panel. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves a direct connection to the ceiling wiring. Check that the ceiling surface where the canopy will be fixed is solid and can support the weight of the luminaire. Also make sure that the socket is compatible with E27 LED bulbs before switching on.

For maintenance, clean the steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or those containing solvents that could damage the black finish or the satin gold. Before cleaning, always disconnect the lamp from the power supply. Do not handle the lights with unprotected hands when they are on or have just been switched off.

Design and use

The WHIZZ lamp in its three-light pendant version has a clear presence within the space. It is not a piece that goes unnoticed, but neither does it seek to impose itself. The combination of satin gold and black on the steel body gives it a character of its own, recognisable within current interior decoration trends.

This oval lamp works well as a central element in a frequently used room. In the living room, placed above the sofa area or the coffee table, it visually organises the space and provides a light source directed downwards. In the dining room, where lighting above the table is key to the atmosphere, a pendant lamp of these characteristics defines the area without the need for additional decorative elements.

The kitchen can also benefit from a suspension luminaire like this one, especially in open-plan or open-layout spaces where the dining room and kitchen share the same zone. In that type of layout, the lamp acts as a visual reference point that separates the areas naturally.

In the bedroom, a designer pendant lamp easily replaces bedside lamps when installed at the appropriate height. The three-light version allows the lighting to be distributed in a more balanced way throughout the room, without relying on a single central light point.

The steel body guarantees stability and durability. It is a material that withstands daily domestic use well and requires no special care beyond periodic cleaning. The matte black finish on parts of the body contrasts with the satin gold of the canopy and arms, creating a combination that suits both modern interiors and spaces that mix styles.

The oval base of this oval lamp allows for a distribution of the three lights that does not visually overwhelm. The E27 LED bulbs, which are not included but are easily available in any lighting shop, allow the colour temperature to be adjusted according to the needs of each space. Warm light for rest areas, more neutral for work areas or the kitchen.

The total height of the lamp, with the cable extended, reaches 1760 mm, which gives room to adjust the length according to the ceiling height of each home. In standard 2.5-metre ceilings, there is sufficient space to leave it at a comfortable height without it being too low or too high.

For a bathroom with a good ceiling height and adequate ventilation, this type of lamp can be considered in large spaces where a refined finish is sought. It is an option that works well with dark surfaces, light wood, or smooth walls in neutral tones.

The WHIZZ family also includes other versions, which allows visual consistency to be maintained between different areas of the same home using lights of the same design. This is useful when the lighting of several rooms is being renewed at the same time and a common thread in the overall style is desired.

Questions and answers

Does the multiple canopy allow the lamp to be installed on standard ceilings without additional adapters?

Yes. The multiple canopy included with this pendant lamp is designed to be fixed directly to the ceiling in a conventional installation. No special adapters are needed, although it is always recommended that the assembly be carried out by a qualified professional.

Does the lamp accept any E27 bulb or only LED?

The lamp is specified for an E27 LED light source with a maximum power of 15 W per light point. It is recommended to respect that power limit so as not to overload the installation.

Is the suspension cable adjustable in length?

The total height indicated is 1760 mm, which includes the cable. In most domestic installations it is possible to adjust the cable length during assembly, although it is recommended to consult with the installer before cutting or modifying the cable.
