Design and use

TATAWIN is the result of a design process in which Adolfo Abejón took the characteristic shape of the traditional buildings of Tataouine as his starting point. This city in southeastern Tunisia has dwellings with domes and conical silhouettes that, seen from above, form a compact and recognizable geometry. The oval shade of this hanging luminaire evokes that image, reinterpreted in black opal glass and supported by a steel body.

The result is a ceiling lamp with a clear visual presence but without excess. The oval shade in black opal glass does not allow the light source to be seen directly, which softens the projection and prevents glare. The light emerges filtered, with a diffusion that covers the nearby area without creating harsh contrasts. This makes it comfortable in spaces with prolonged use: the living room in the afternoon, the bedroom before sleep, or the kitchen during dinner preparation.

The circular and compact structure of the hanging system does not take up much visual space. In ceilings of standard height it works without interfering with movement or the general perception of the space. For rooms with higher ceilings, the scale of the luminaire can be combined with other lights in the same environment to achieve a more balanced illumination.

The satin black finish of the steel body is one of the details that contributes most to the overall look. Is the steel body with a satin black finish resistant to minor knocks or scratches during assembly?

Steel is a robust material, but the satin finish can be marked by metal objects during installation. It is recommended to handle the lamp carefully and not to rest it on abrasive surfaces while assembling it.

Does this hanging lamp work with dimmer systems?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the E27 LED bulb installed, not on the luminaire itself. You must verify that the chosen bulb is dimmable before connecting it to such a system.
