TATAWIN M is a pendant lamp designed by Adolfo Abejón for the brand FARO. The shape of its shade is reminiscent of the traditional dwellings of Tataouine, a city in southeastern Tunisia — that oval silhouette gives it a character of its own that is hard to ignore.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a ceiling point with a recessed box or solid surface capable of supporting the weight of the assembly is required. The lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included multiple canopy. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially when working with installations involving several grouped light points. Before connecting, verify that your network voltage is within the range indicated by the manufacturer.

To clean the glass shade, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the opal surface. The steel body in black finish can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected. Replace the bulb only when the lamp is switched off and cool.

Design and use

The shade of the TATAWIN M has an oval silhouette that sets this lamp apart from other pendants on the market. It is not an arbitrary shape — Adolfo Abejón drew inspiration from the architecture of the dwellings of Tataouine, whose domes and rounded volumes have a very particular geometry. The result is a pendant lamp with a personality of its own, but without ostentation.

The white opal glass of the shade distributes light gently, without creating areas of harsh shadow or direct glare. It is a solution designed for spaces where pleasant, enveloping lighting is sought. This oval shade, combined with the black steel body, creates a clean contrast that works well in modern interiors, but also in spaces with a more classic or industrial character.

The 7-light multiple canopy is one of the most interesting elements of this lamp. From a single ceiling point it is possible to deploy up to seven pendants, allowing visual compositions to be created at different heights. This is especially useful in high ceilings, where a single lamp would be lost, or in large areas such as a spacious dining room or an open kitchen. Grouping several TATAWIN M units creates an ensemble effect that transforms the space without the need for complex electrical installation.

In a living room, this pendant lamp can act as a focal point above a coffee table or in a reading corner. In a bedroom, the opal glass softens the light and avoids the harsh effect that exposed bulbs sometimes create. In a bathroom with a high ceiling, one or two units can provide functional lighting with a more refined finish than a standard ceiling light. The combination of the black body with the white glass shade is versatile. Compatibility with an E27 LED bulb allows the colour temperature to be chosen according to the use of the space. Warm light in a bedroom or dining room, more neutral light in a kitchen or work areas. The lamp does not include a bulb, giving the buyer the possibility of adjusting the lighting result according to their specific needs.

Yes. The multiple canopy is designed precisely to hang several units from a single ceiling point, and allows the length of each pendant to be adjusted independently, giving freedom to create staggered compositions.

Does the oval opal glass shade affect the intensity of light emitted by the lamp?

The white opal glass diffuses the light, which reduces the sensation of direct brightness and distributes the illumination more evenly. It does not block light significantly, but it does soften the final result.

Is the steel body with black finish resistant to corrosion in environments with moderate humidity, such as a bathroom?

The body is made of steel with a black finish. In a bathroom with adequate ventilation and moderate humidity it can be used without problems. It is not certified for environments with intense steam or very high humidity on a continuous basis.
