Installation and specifications

The fixture attaches directly to the ceiling via the included multiple canopy. It is recommended that electrical installation be carried out by a professional. The suspension cable has a total length of 5000 mm, so it is advisable to plan the installation height in advance according to the available space.

To clean the papyrus shade, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemical products and direct exposure to high humidity. The steel structure can be cleaned with a soft cloth to keep the matte black finish in good condition. Do not install this lamp in a bathroom or in spaces with constant steam, as it is not designed for humid environments.

Design and use

The SAMBA pendant in its 5-light version has a balanced presence. It does not occupy more visual space than necessary, but it does define the space clearly. The oval papyrus shade in beige diffuses light softly, without creating harsh shadows or overly concentrated light points. It is a lamp that works well above a long dining table, in a wide hallway, or as the central element of a medium-sized living room.

The matte black steel body runs along each arm of the canopy. That contrast between the black of the structure and the beige of the oval shade is what gives this luminaire its character. It is not an industrial-style lamp, although the metal might suggest it. Nor is it strictly Nordic. It has its own design that adapts to contemporary interiors, warmer proposals with wood and natural materials, or even vintage-style environments where different finishes are mixed.

Each of the five arms holds an individual oval shade with an E27 LED socket. This distribution allows a wider surface area to be illuminated than a single-point lamp would cover. In a dining room, for example, the five lights can be slightly oriented to distribute illumination across the entire table. In a large room, they provide an ambient feel rather than intense functional lighting, which is comfortable at night.

Papyrus is a material that conveys visual warmth without being ostentatious. Unlike crystal or glass, it does not reflect light but filters it. This makes the lamp pleasant even when switched on at full power. The oval shade does not create glare from the usual viewing angles in a room.

From an installation standpoint, the 5000 mm suspension cable provides ample margin to adjust the installation height. In high-ceilinged spaces, the lamp can hang at a considerable distance from the ceiling without appearing disproportionate. In spaces with standard ceiling heights, the excess cable can be gathered inside the canopy or shortened during installation.

This pendant lamp is also a valid option for hospitality projects. In a hotel breakfast room, in the common area of a holiday apartment, or in a quiet-atmosphere restaurant, the SAMBA offers sufficient lighting without visually saturating the space. Its scale and finish allow it to be integrated without standing out excessively among other decorative elements.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs of up to 15 W per light point means the total energy consumption of the assembly is reasonable. As the light source is not included, the buyer can choose the colour temperature that best suits the environment: warmer light for rest spaces, more neutral light for work areas or dining rooms.

Questions and answers

Can the 5000 mm suspension cable be shortened if the ceiling is low?

Yes. During installation it is possible to gather or cut the cable to adapt it to the ceiling height. It is recommended that this be done by an electrician to ensure the connections are correctly made.

Is the oval papyrus shade resistant to the heat from LED bulbs?

Papyrus handles without issue the heat generated by LED bulbs at the maximum indicated power, which is 15 W per light point. It is not recommended to exceed that power or to use any other type of light source.

Is it possible to install this pendant lamp in a bathroom or in a kitchen with frequent steam?

No. This luminaire is designed for dry interiors. It does not have specific protection against humidity, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or kitchens with intense steam.
