Overview

The SAMBA pendant lamp by FARO is a lighting solution designed for interior spaces where the visual appearance of the whole matters as much as the light itself. With three light points, it covers a dining table, a living room corner, or the center of a large room very well. The green shade with papyrus finish and the matte black steel body form a combination that does not try to go unnoticed — and that is precisely what makes it interesting.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Their collections combine quality materials with functional design, intended for both the home and hospitality and restaurant projects. The SAMBA collection, developed by Faro Lab, follows that line: pieces with their own character that fit into modern environments without being aggressive.

Installation and specifications

For installation, an existing ceiling light point is required. The lamp is fixed directly to the ceiling using the included canopy. The cable has a generous length of 5000 mm, which allows the hanging height to be adjusted according to the space. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before connecting, make sure the circuit is de-energized. Use E27 LED bulbs with a maximum power of 15 W per socket — bulbs are not included.

To clean the metal body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents. The papyrus shade is cleaned with a dry cloth, without water. Do not expose the lamp to direct humidity: it is not designed for bathrooms or kitchens with heavy condensation. Periodically check the condition of the cable and connections.

Design and use

The SAMBA pendant with a multiple three-light canopy has a profile that is recognizable from the very first moment. The three oval shades in a green tone with a white interior create a balanced ensemble without feeling overdone. The chosen green is not garish — it has a calm presence that works well alongside natural woods, neutral surfaces, or light-colored walls.

The body is made of steel with a matte black finish. This type of finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the whole piece a more sober and contemporary look. The structure holds the three shades firmly, without movement or vibration when the cable height is adjusted. The total weight of 1.67 kg is manageable for most standard ceilings.

Each shade is oval-shaped and made of papyrus with a white interior. The papyrus filters the light from the bulbs and distributes it softly into the space below. It produces no direct glare. The light it emits has a diffuse quality, suitable for creating a relaxed atmosphere in a living room or dining room. The white interior diffuser amplifies the brightness without losing the characteristic warmth of fabric shades.

This lamp fits well in dining rooms with a long table, where the three lights are distributed along the space and cover the work or gathering surface well. It also works in living rooms, especially when placed above a coffee table or in a reading area. In a room with a high ceiling, the long cable allows the lamp to be lowered to a visually interesting point without being intrusive.

The combination of matte black and green also works well in hospitality projects: cafés, modern-style restaurants, or coworking spaces where a refined atmosphere is sought without falling into the generic. In such environments, the pendant lamp acts as an atmospheric element as well as a light source.

The light source is E27 LED, a very common fitting that makes it easy to find bulbs. You can choose between warm, neutral, or cool light depending on the effect you are looking for. For a dining room or bedroom, warm light usually gives the best results. For a kitchen or work area, a neutral temperature may be more practical. Remember that the maximum power per light point is 15 W.

The compatible voltage ranges from 100V to 240V, so there is no adaptation issue in any home in Europe or Latin America. Installation is done on the ceiling using the upper canopy, which covers the connection box and gives a clean finish. The long 5-meter cable is coiled or adjusted during assembly.

The modern SAMBA lamp does not rely on additional accessories to make a strong impression. Its design works on its own, without needing to be combined with other lights from the same model, although two units in a large space can also produce a coherent result.

Questions and answers

Can the 5000 mm cable be shortened during installation?

Yes. The long cable is designed so that the installer can adjust the hanging height according to the ceiling height. The excess is gathered inside the canopy or organized during assembly. It is recommended that this be done by an electrician.

What type of E27 LED bulb is compatible with this lamp?

Any bulb with an E27 fitting and a maximum power of 15 W per light point. Bulbs are not included. You can choose the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to achieve in each room.

Does the oval papyrus shade hold up well to the heat from LED bulbs?

LED bulbs generate much less heat than incandescent ones, so the papyrus of the oval shade does not suffer under normal use. Even so, do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W per socket.
