Overview

The FARO PLAT lamp is a ceiling pendant luminaire designed for those who seek a clean style, free of distracting elements. The design revolves around the bulb: it remains visible, exposed, and becomes the focal point of the space. There are no elaborate shades or complex structures. Everything you see is what matters.

It works well in a living room, kitchen, or dining room where a simple aesthetic is desired without sacrificing a refined finish. The Scandinavian style finds a natural complement in this lamp: clean lines, a discreet presence, honest materials. It also fits in a bedroom or any corner where excessive ornamentation makes no sense.

FARO is a brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products combine functionality and aesthetic sensibility without needing to justify it in every piece. PLAT is a good example of that.

Installation and specifications

To install this ceiling pendant lamp, an electrical junction box is required at the anchoring point. The suspension height can be adjusted by shortening the cable according to the needs of the space. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before any electrical work, make sure to cut the power supply at the main panel. The lamp is compatible with voltages between 100 and 240 V, so it works without adapters in most countries.

The steel surface with a matte white finish can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. Do not touch the bulb with bare hands when it is on or has just been switched off. Periodically check that the ceiling anchor remains secure.

Design and use

The PLAT lamp has a clear approach: the spotlight belongs to the bulb, not the structure that holds it. The steel body in matte white acts as a support, not as a decorative element in itself. This means the piece works well in spaces that already have other characterful elements, because it does not compete with them.

The oval shape of the assembly provides visual balance. An oval lamp with straight lines and no ornamentation is versatile: it can go above a rectangular dining table, centered in a bedroom, or suspended in the reading area of a living room. The scale is generous, at 500 mm in diameter, giving it presence without feeling heavy. The suspension cable allows a reach of up to 1590 mm from the ceiling, although it can be adjusted to whatever height best suits the space.

Matte white is a finish that does not reflect or accumulate unwanted glare. It integrates the lamp with white or light-colored ceilings in an almost invisible way, letting the LED bulb draw all the attention. This simplicity is not a limitation: it is exactly what someone looking for an unpretentious ceiling light is after.

In the kitchen, a pendant lamp above the island or countertop improves functional lighting without adding visual noise. In the dining room, the suspension height allows the light to be brought closer to the table, creating a more intimate atmosphere. In a bedroom, centered above the bed, it provides soft general lighting that is not harsh. In the living room, it can complement floor lamps or wall lights without standing out excessively. It also works in the bathroom, as long as it is installed in an area away from the shower or bathtub and the electrical safety regulations for wet areas are observed.

Nordic design has a direct relationship with this type of luminaire. Scandinavian aesthetics value functionality, neutral finishes, and honesty of materials. A lamp like this fits effortlessly with light wood furniture, textiles in natural tones, and smooth walls. But it also works well in more modern or minimalist environments where the main criterion is not adding unnecessary elements.

The E27 LED bulb is not included, which allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits the use and the ambiance you want to achieve. A warmer light gives a cozier result; a more neutral one works better for workspaces or kitchens. The maximum accepted wattage is 15 W, sufficient for a good-quality LED bulb.

Compatibility with voltages between 100 and 240 V makes the lamp suitable for installations in different countries without the need for adapters. The net weight of 2.08 kg is manageable for a standard ceiling anchor, although it is always advisable to verify that the structural support is adequate before installation.

Questions and answers

Does the PLAT lamp include the E27 LED bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp accepts an E27 base with a maximum power of 15 W. You can choose the bulb that best suits the color temperature you are looking for in your space.

Is it possible to adjust the cable length to reduce the suspension height?

Yes. The cable has a maximum length that allows suspension of up to 1590 mm from the ceiling, but it can be shortened during installation to suit the ceiling height and the space. It is recommended to do this with the help of an electrician.

Is the PLAT lamp available in any other color besides matte white?

According to the available product information, PLAT is available in two colors. The matte white finish is one of them. To find out the second available option, check the item variants on the product page.
