Overview

The LUMINA 600 pendant light by FARO is an oval-shaped ceiling pendant designed for those looking for something specific: warm light, a clean silhouette, and a presence that doesn't overwhelm the space. It mounts to the ceiling and works well in dining rooms, living rooms, kitchens, or bedrooms — any room where you want a light source with its own character without being excessive.

The 24W module with a color temperature of 2200K delivers very warm light, close to the tone of a candle. That warmth makes the lamp work especially well in spaces where people eat, rest, or converse. The oval shape of the pendant creates a visually light presence, though the volume is sufficient to make it noticed.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Their products combine technical judgment and attention to formal detail, designed for residential and contract installations.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, check that the ceiling support can bear the weight of the pendant. Cut the power supply before starting any work. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to have the installation carried out by an electrician. The lamp does not include a light source: you will need to purchase a compatible LED module before use. Verify that the suspension cable is properly tensioned and that the pendant body hangs in a stable position.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the PC diffuser. Before cleaning, make sure the lamp is switched off and cool. Do not wet the electrical connection area. Continuous use in very humid environments is not suitable for this model.

Design and use

The LUMINA 600 is a pendant lamp with an oval profile, built with transparent materials on the body and a PC diffuser with an opal finish. That combination means that when it is on, the light comes out evenly without visible concentration points. The 2200K temperature produces a very warm tone — closer to amber than white — which completely changes the perception of the space where it is installed.

The transparent body means the lamp carries no visual weight. In a dining room, for example, it hangs above the table without blocking the view or creating a dense shadow zone around it. In a living room with high ceilings it can work alone as the main light source, or complement other more functional lights. The oval shape has a design quality that needs no explanation: it simply looks good from different angles.

In the kitchen, a pendant lamp of this type is typically placed above an island or a bar, where the warmth of 2200K complements natural materials such as wood or stone well. It is not a task light — it is not designed to illuminate a countertop with precision — but rather to create atmosphere while cooking or eating.

In the bedroom, the warm tone of this lamp supports the transition to rest. Installed above the bedside table or centered in the room at mid-height, it produces a soft light that is not intrusive. The oval shape fits well with clean-lined headboards, bedding in neutral tones, or light wood furniture.

SMD LED technology ensures efficient energy consumption. Although the light source is not included, the module is standard and easy to obtain. Compatibility with 220V-240V voltage makes it suitable for use in Spain and the rest of Europe without additional adapters.

The transparent finish of the body gives it decorative versatility. It does not compete with other materials present in the room — not with wicker, iron, or matte surfaces. It integrates without friction. The oval silhouette does not impose a specific style either: it can accompany a Nordic-style interior, a more contemporary space, or a mix of references.

Installed in the bathroom — provided the light point is at an adequate distance from the water zone — it brings that warmth that bathrooms with white tiles or concrete floors often need to avoid feeling cold. The oval shape contrasts well with rectangular surfaces or mirrors with metal frames.

The LUMINA 600 weighs 1.67 kg, making it lightweight for the type of installation it proposes. The pendant has a length of 34 mm and a depth of 30 mm, with a height of 350 mm — dimensions that allow the drop above the use plane to be adjusted so that it is neither too low nor too distant.

Questions and answers

Does the LUMINA 600 lamp include the LED module or does it need to be purchased separately?

The LED module is not included. You need to purchase it separately before putting the lamp into operation. Make sure it is compatible with the maximum power of 60W and the voltage of 220V-240V.

Does the opal diffuser of the pendant affect the amount of light the lamp emits?

The PC diffuser with opal finish distributes light evenly and eliminates points of maximum intensity. The amount of light is not significantly reduced, but the result is softer and without direct glare.

Is the color temperature of 2200K suitable for using the lamp as the main light in a room?

It depends on the use. 2200K produces very warm light, ideal for creating atmosphere in a living room, bedroom, or dining room. If you need more functional and clear lighting for working or reading, it is advisable to combine it with other lights at a higher color temperature.
