Overview

The FARO LUMINA 600 is a recessed ceiling lamp designed for those who want good lighting without overloading the space. It is installed flush with the ceiling, with no visible frame, making it almost invisible when off. When switched on, it projects a warm 2200K light that creates a calm atmosphere, free of harshness or coldness.

It is a lamp that works well in a living room, dining room, or bedroom where discreet but present lighting is desired. Its elongated format, at 635 mm in length, allows it to occupy a well-defined spot on the ceiling without drawing too much attention.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products combine technical expertise and attention to detail, and are present in residential and commercial projects throughout Europe.

Installation and specifications

Installing this lamp requires cutting an opening in the ceiling with the dimensions appropriate for the module. As it is a frameless recessed luminaire, the cut finish must be clean to ensure a uniform result. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it requires direct connection to the mains at 220V–240V. Before working, make sure to switch off the power at the fuse box. The LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately.

To clean the surface, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the PC diffuser. Do not touch the lamp when it is on. Make sure it is switched off and cool before any cleaning or handling.

Design and use

The LUMINA 600 has a presence that is felt without being imposing. Its transparent body and opal diffuser create a combination that, viewed from below, appears as a soft line integrated into the ceiling. There are no frames, no visible joints, no elements that break the continuity of the ceiling finish. It is a lamp that disappears into the space during the day and transforms it at night.

The 2200K temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a candle or a traditional incandescent bulb. It is not a task light, but an ambient light. In a living room, this warmth makes the space feel more welcoming in the evening. In a dining room, it complements a lit table well without dazzling those seated. In a bedroom, it helps create a more relaxed environment before sleep.

The module is 635 mm long and only 34 mm tall, meaning it virtually disappears into the ceiling once installed. This elongated proportion gives it a linear character that fits well with contemporary interiors where straight lines predominate. It also works in spaces with standard ceiling heights, where a pendant lamp might feel uncomfortable.

The PC diffuser with opal finish distributes light evenly. There are no bright spots, no shadow areas. The diffuser surface is slightly translucent, which softens the emission and delivers a pleasant result both from a distance and up close. The transparent body helps keep the overall look visually light, without adding volume or visual weight to the ceiling.

Although the design is modern and refined, it adapts well to interiors of different styles. In a Nordic or minimalist space, it reinforces visual cleanliness. In a kitchen with light furniture and matte surfaces, it provides functional and discreet lighting. In a bathroom with simple lines, it can be used to create ambient light that complements other light sources. In a guest room, it provides just enough without overloading.

The possibility of combining several modules in the same room opens up many options. Several LUMINA 600 units placed in parallel can illuminate a long corridor evenly, or be distributed in a room to create differentiated lighting zones. This flexibility is one of the most practical aspects of the product: it is not an isolated lamp, but an element that can be integrated into a larger composition.

The weight of 1.67 kg is manageable for a standard recessed installation. The transparent body, together with the opal diffuser, forms a combination of materials that conveys a sense of restrained quality, without artifice. There are no visible metal parts or added decorative elements. The oval shape of the unit contributes to that sense of a well-resolved object, where every part serves a purpose.

Questions and answers

What colour temperature does this lamp have and what type of atmosphere is it suitable for?

The lamp emits light at 2200K, a very warm temperature that produces a tone similar to that of a candle. It is ideal for spaces where a relaxed atmosphere is desired, such as a living room, bedroom, or dining room. It is not suitable as a task light or for intensive reading.

Is the LED light source included with the product?

No, the LED light source is not included. It must be purchased separately. The lamp accepts SMD LED light sources and is designed to operate at 220V–240V.

What are the dimensions of the opening required to recess this lamp into the ceiling?

The module is 635 mm long, 30 mm deep, and 34 mm tall. The ceiling opening must be adapted to these measurements. It is recommended to consult an electrician before making the cut to ensure a clean, flush result.
