Overview

The FARO KOMBO lamp is a suspension luminaire designed for spaces where style matters as much as functionality. Its cylindrical structure in matte black and its grey metal shade result in a piece that does not draw exaggerated attention, but does not go unnoticed either. It is the type of pendant lamp that fits well in a large dining room, in a kitchen with a central island, or in a living room where a light source with its own presence is sought.

This version of the KOMBO series comes with a multiple canopy for three lights and measures 40 cm in diameter. It is a ceiling lamp that occupies space with balance: neither too large nor too discreet. The combination of black and grey in matte finishes gives it a restrained character, without stridency.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. It works with specialised designers and takes care of both the visual aspect and the quality of materials in each of its collections.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp, an electrical box in the ceiling in good condition and with wiring suitable for the indicated power is required. As this is a three-light version with a multiple canopy, it is advisable to verify that the fixing surface can support the weight of the assembly. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. The cable has a length of 5000 mm, which allows margin to adjust the hanging height according to the space.

To clean the metal shade, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the grey finish of the lamp should not be used. Before any cleaning or handling, always disconnect the light and wait for the bulbs to cool down completely.

Design and use

The KOMBO series was born from the Nutcreatives design studio with a clear idea: to create a family of pendant lamps that work in different contexts without needing to make concessions in aesthetics or quality. The three-light version embodies that philosophy and brings it to spaces where more luminous presence is needed without losing visual coherence.

The upper structure is a cylinder in matte black made of steel. This black detail acts as a visual anchor: it focuses the gaze and gives solidity to the whole. From there hangs the grey shade, also metallic, which works with geometric shapes of clean profile. There are no unnecessary curves or ornaments. It is an oval lamp in its general silhouette, with lines that evoke a restrained and timeless design.

The matte finish on both parts avoids annoying reflections and allows the lamp to integrate easily into different environments. It works equally well in a Nordic-style interior as in a more eclectic one. The matte black of the structure pairs effortlessly with dark wood surfaces, marble countertops or white lacquered furniture.

In a dining room, this pendant lamp above the table creates a balanced atmosphere. The triple version allows light to be distributed in a more enveloping way than a single-point lamp. In a kitchen with a bar or island, three well-placed light points define the work area and give character to the space without overcrowding it.

In a living room, a ceiling lamp with this profile can work as a central element without imposing itself on the rest of the furniture. Its oval geometry and neutral palette allow it to coexist with sofas, textiles and shelving without creating visual tension. It is also suitable in a large room, where a high ceiling calls for a luminaire with a long cable and sufficient presence to fill the space.

For a double bedroom with a standard ceiling, the adjustable cable height allows the lamp to be positioned at the exact distance needed. The 5000 mm cable gives plenty of room for manoeuvre during installation.

The lamp accepts LED bulbs with an E27 socket, which is the most common on the market. Although the light source is not included, compatible options are easy to find. A warm LED bulb will reinforce the cosy atmosphere in living rooms and bedrooms; a neutral light one will work better in kitchens or work areas.

Although this lamp is not designed for bathrooms or outdoors, in a large bathroom with a high ceiling and good ventilation its use may be considered provided it is kept away from the direct wet zone. In such cases, it is advisable to verify the specific conditions before installing it.

The weight of 1.67 kg per unit is manageable, but as it is a triple set, it is necessary to ensure that the ceiling anchor point has the required strength.

Questions and answers

Does the multiple canopy come prepared for three independent light points or is it a single outlet?

The KOMBO version described here is the multiple canopy configuration for three lights, meaning each pendant lamp has its own outlet. Installation must be carried out by an electrician to ensure a correct and safe connection.

Does the grey shade have any surface treatment that protects the metal from wear over time?

The shade is made of metal with a matte finish. This type of finish is resistant to normal use, but contact with aggressive chemical products should be avoided. A dry cloth is sufficient for regular maintenance.

Can the 5000 mm cable be shortened if the ceiling of the living room or bedroom is low?

Yes. The cable has a maximum length of 5000 mm that allows it to adapt to high ceilings, but it can be gathered and adjusted during installation to suit the height of the space. This is an operation carried out by the installer at the time of fitting.
